Literacy, Numeracy and ICT are key focus areas in our teaching, with staff active in developing our curriculum to ensure it is relevant and effective for all our students.</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong><br>Teacher Librarians are effective classroom teachers with expertise in Information Technologies.<br>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Benefits and Opportunities</strong></p><ul><li>A positive and collaborative workplace culture</li><li>Access to our high-quality professional learning program called Catalyst</li><li>Access to curriculum resources that support evidence-based, high impact teaching practice</li><li>Twenty-four (24) weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption)</li><li>Up to fourteen (14) weeks of paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carer leave)</li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Deliver relevant and flexible library and information literacy lessons appropriate to the students.</li><li>Actively engage students in the use of digital technologies.</li><li>Promote print and digital resources including library management system and subscription data bases.</li><li>Provide relevant resources for the classroom teachers and students.</li><li>Use the library management system and oversee the cataloguing of resources.</li><li>Manage library staff, parent volunteers and library monitors.</li><li>Promote knowledge of and passion for children’s literature.</li><li>Collaborate with staff in the coordination of Book Week celebrations, Book Fair and Book Club organisations.</li><li>Coordinate and oversee of Accelerated Reader Program.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching.</li><li>Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) registrations.</li><li>Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) accreditation and/or NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation.</li></ul><p><strong>Selection Criteria</strong></p><ol><li>Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with colleagues, students, and parents;</li><li>Demonstrated high level IT skills and an ability to communicate and upskill other staff in the use of new technologies.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of the Australian Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and learning including a comprehensive understanding of assessment and reporting strategies and the need to provide effective and timely feedback to parents and students;</li><li>Skills in maintaining an efficient and thorough system of identifying, organising, circulating, and retrieving resources;</li><li>Demonstrated understanding of library collection management including purchasing, budgeting, and culling to ensure a balanced and rich collection to meet the needs of students and staff.</li></ol><p><i>Please refer to the role description for an in-depth detail regarding criteria and skill set required.</i></p><p><strong>Other Eligibility Criteria</strong></p><ul><li>You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible to apply for this position.&nbsp;</li><li>Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Application Process</strong></p><p>Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and current resume including a statement of suitability against the skills, attributes and experience as outlined in the Position Description.</p><p>This position involves working with children.
