St Dominic’s College, Kingswood is a Catholic school in the Blessed Edmund Rice tradition conducted by Edmund Rice Education Australia. Founded by the Christian Brothers in 1959, the College has a current enrolment of just over 1000 boys, Years 7 – 12.

<p>St Dominic’s College, Kingswood is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, suitably qualified Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) Teacher commencing at the beginning of the 2025 College year. This position offers the opportunity for the successful candidate to potentially take on the role of STEM (one point) Coordinator, leading innovative STEM initiatives across the College and working in a recently renovated and equipped STEM Lab. </p><p>The successful candidate will be passionate about TAS education, committed to student engagement and eager to contribute to a technologically rich learning environment. For those with the aspiration to step into leadership, the STEM Coordinator role will involve coordinating STEM Curriculum, resources and staff development across the College.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities Include:</strong></p><ul><li>Developing and delivering dynamic and effective TAS lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.</li><li>Creating a stimulating classroom environment that encourages active student participation and curiosity.</li><li>Assessing and reporting on student progress, providing feedback that supports their educational growth.</li><li>Collaborating with colleagues to design and implement cohesive and integrated teaching strategies.</li><li>Engaging with the school community and contributing to the co-curricular and pastoral life of the College.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Essential Criteria:</strong></p><ul><li>A working understanding and strong commitment to Catholic values, morals and faith in the Edmund Rice tradition</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in STEM, TAS, or a related field, with a recognised teaching qualification.</li><li>Accreditation with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) or eligibility to obtain it. </li><li>Proven experience in teaching STEM and/or TAS across Stages 4, 5, and 6 (Years 7-12).</li><li>Sound knowledge of the unique learning needs of young men.</li><li>Proven leadership abilities and excellence in classroom</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students. </li><li>A proactive approach to professional development and a desire to contribute to the broader school community.</li></ul><p><strong>Highly Desirable Criteria:</strong></p><ul><li>An understanding of the Charism of Blessed Edmund Rice and the core values of the Edmund Rice charter. </li><li>Experience or the ability to teach Design &amp; Technology to Stage 6</li><li>Experience or the ability to teach iSTEM</li><li>Experience or the ability to Engineering </li><li>Experience in teaching other subjects within the Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) KLA.</li><li>Experience in, but not limited to; coding, 3D printing, laser engraving, robotics, sublimated printing, CNC manufacturing</li><li>High ICT skillset within a contemporary blended learning environment.</li><li>Demonstrated passion for student-centred learning and a proven ability to effectively engage students.</li><li>Strong organisation and planning skills; must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities within given deadlines</li><li>Sound knowledge of the unique learning needs of young men</li><li>Active involvement in and supportive of College extra-curricular activities</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Potential STEM Coordinator Role: </strong></p><p>For candidates who wish to be considered for the STEM Coordinator role, additional responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>Leading the design and implementation of STEM Curriculum across the College. </li><li>Coordinating STEM related projects, events and extracurricular activities. </li><li>Providing professional development and mentoring to staff in STEM education </li><li>Managing STEM resources and overseeing the integration of technology in STEM subjects. </li><li>Work collaboratively with the College’s TAS Coordinator &amp; Learning Technologies Coordinator who has overall responsibility for Learning Technologies within the College. </li></ul><p> </p><p>Teachers at St Dominic’s College are employed under the <strong>NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Teachers – Model B) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2023</strong> and may attract higher levels of renumeration.</p><p>The salary will be reflective of NESA accreditation level and teaching experience with an estimated annual salary between $91 974 and $132 117</p><p>Should the successful candidate take on the STEM Coordinator role, they will receive an additional one-point coordinator annual allowance of $10 723</p><p>The College offers a variety of benefits for staff including: </p><ul><li>Teacher accreditation support and professional learning programme. </li><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – Counselling Service. </li><li>Annual influenza vaccinations provided by the College. </li><li>Catered weekly morning teas. </li><li>Catered staff development and networking days. </li><li>Free street parking. </li><li>Free use of College gym. </li><li>College provided laptops.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Applicants are encouraged to visit the College website <a href="http://www.stdominics.nsw.edu.au/" rel="nofollow">www.stdominics.nsw.edu.au</a> for further information about the College.
