Catholic Schools Broken Bay is seeking an energetic and passionate Cross Campus Language Specialist Teacher – Japanese (K-12) on a temporary part-time basis.
<p>Catholic Schools Broken Bay is seeking an energetic and passionate <strong>Cross Campus Language Specialist Teacher – Japanese (K-12).</strong> The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and enjoy working in a dynamic and cohesive team.</p><p>This is a temporary part-time (0.2FTE) opportunity to start in Term 3 of 2024 and expire at the end of the 2025 school year. This is why we have taken the initiative to get ahead of the market and offer the following unique benefits to our staff: </p><ul><li><strong>Higher pay: </strong>We have recently finalised our CSBB Enterprise Agreement which guarantees your pay will be at least 1.5% above the NSW Department of Education</li><li><strong>More time: </strong>We provide every primary and secondary classroom teacher with collaborative planning time (CPT), in addition to the usual release from face-to-face</li><li><strong>Staff voice:</strong> Our Enterprise Agreement reflects our deep commitment to having systems in place which give our frontline staff a genuine voice in their work </li><li><strong>Wellbeing Support:</strong> we provide a robust wellbeing program to ensure our staff thrive and grow.</li></ul><p><strong>Specific Criteria</strong></p><p>Write resources for K -12 Japanese Cross Campus courses including:</p><ul><li>Creating content to support the HSC Optimisation Project Workshop days</li><li>Updating the scope and sequence for the Japanese Experience Course (formerly Japanese Cultural Course)</li><li>Creating lesson plans, content and resources to support the course both as physical items (e.g. flashcards, posters) and digital (e.g. recording spoken texts, creating Quizlet review games etc.) </li></ul><p>Provide advice and planning support to the Cross Campus Centre Japan Tour team including:</p><ul><li>Researching and collating information on Japanese language websites</li></ul><p>Participate in the planning and execution of Japanese Language and Cultural Experience days in the diocese including the HSC Optimisation Project Workshop days and the Cross Campus Centre Japanese Experience Course Face-to-Face days</p><p><strong>Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrated experience in teaching languages and creating resources for language courses</li><li>Display a passion for working with young people</li><li>Is energised by working in a fast-paced environment and is an agile, responsive, flexible and collaborative practitioner</li><li>Have a keen eye for detail to deliver consistently accurate and informed written and verbal communications suitable for the receiving audience</li><li>Work with the customer in mind to serve their needs and requirements</li><li>Can manage competing priorities and the sensitivities of others to deliver high quality work</li><li>Experience supporting Overseas exchange programs and school tours</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications</li><li>NESA accredited as Proficient or working towards Proficient accreditation</li><li>Valid Working with Children Check </li><li>Current NSW Driver’s Licence (and own car required) </li></ul><p><strong>About us, our Vision and our Towards 2025 Strategy</strong> </p><p>Our Vision is to provide <i>‘authentic, professional Catholic education, delivered with care and compassion’</i>.
