<p><strong>Role Description – Learning and Teaching/Literacy/ Maths Leader will:</strong></p><p><strong> Learning and Teaching</strong></p><ul><li>Have the skills and understandings of Contemporary Learning &amp; Teaching and MACS Vision for Instruction</li><li>Facilitate a school wide approach, identifying the natural connections between literacy and maths concepts, and the Victorian Curriculum </li><li>Have a sound understanding of contemporary educational practice (Science of Learning)</li><li>Build the capacity of teachers to develop content &amp; pedagogical knowledge, sharing expertise &amp; skills in curriculum development</li><li>Attend and support level planning to ensure that scope and sequence is implemented effectively and with appropriate continuity</li><li>Support teachers to increase expertise in assessment including data interpretation and analysis to inform teaching decisions</li><li>Support teachers and leaders in tracking and monitoring student progress and planning for the needs of students with the Learning Diversity Team </li><li>Facilitate the planning of Inquiry Units with class teachers each term</li><li>Organise relevant excursions and experiences as required</li><li>Coordinate the development of semester reports with the classroom teachers and ICT Leader</li><li>Build positive relationships and assist in creating learning environments where all are valued, engaged and challenged</li></ul><p><strong>Literacy</strong></p><ul><li>Plan with teachers, empowering them to develop literacy instruction that aligns with the science of learning</li><li>Rich knowledge of and passion for texts that engage readers at all levels of the school</li><li>Build capacity of teachers to develop strategies specific to EAL learners</li><li>Have experience and understanding of the EAL Continuum and Curriculum </li><li>Manage, purchase, disseminate and collect learning and teaching resources</li><li>Demonstrate effective communication and organisational skills and have the ability to plan collaboratively, be flexible, proactive and resourceful.</li></ul><p><strong>Maths</strong></p><ul><li>Initiate the school wide implementation of Mathematics Version 2.0 </li><li>Review the effectiveness of teaching and learning in Mathematics, through reviewing long term plans, units and weekly plans as well as observing teaching practice</li><li>Coaching, collaborating and planning with teachers in the development of focussed teaching for continuous improvement</li><li>Monitor the effectiveness of teaching and student outcomes throughout the year by collecting, analysing and interpreting data to inform teaching</li><li>Facilitate professional learning meetings providing PL tailored to pedagogical needs</li><li>Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities</li><li>Support parents in understanding contemporary Mathematics learning.</li></ul><p> </p>
