Following this review, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and highly skilled Head of Cultural Inclusion (POL3) to join Penola Catholic College from 2025 to 2027.</p><p>Penola Catholic College acknowledges that we have students that have English as an Additional Language (EAL), are from a refugee background or are indigenous (that is identify or are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent). To meet their individual needs, curriculum programs need to create a positive learning environment as these students often experience significant disruption to their schooling. The College has in place a number of strategies to support and enhance their learning, in particular their literacy. These students also require case management and significant holistic support for their needs due to the impacts of their experiences and other external factors.</p><p>As the Head of Cultural Inclusion you will coordinate the EAL program across all year levels and will assist refugee students and students who identify themselves as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. You will ensure that these students are supported within the classroom.</p><p>Please note an ongoing teaching appointment is attached to the position.</p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>To be successful you will have demonstrated and explicit understanding of individualised instruction and differentiated instruction. You will also be able to demonstrate and model contemporary teaching practice: understanding how students ‘learn best’. You will also have a demonstrated knowledge of the Australian curriculum frameworks and have a demonstrated capacity to provide leadership that is characterised by a desire for continuous improvement, lateral thinking and innovation, holding team members to account where necessary.
