<p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p><p>Sapphire Coast Anglican College is a P-12, independent, Anglican College and is a Christ-centred, student- focused and community-minded school that develops extraordinary learners with a passion to serve others.  Established in 1994, the College is located on the Far South Coast of NSW in the heart of the Bega Valley with an enrolment of approximately 425 students.</p><p>The College takes pride in its strong sense of community and pastoral care of students, their family and staff of the College.  Sapphire Coast Anglican College has a strong link with St John’s Anglican Church in Bega as well as local churches throughout the Bega Valley.</p><p>Sapphire Coast Anglican College is seeking to appoint a Wellbeing Officer – School Counsellor for a period of 12 months to cover a maternity leave.  This role would support, guide and provide counselling to students across the College. This role would be 0.6 full-time equivalent, attending 3 days/week.</p><p><strong>Duties</strong></p><ul><li>Provide support and guidance to students and staff on wellbeing matters</li><li>Provide counselling to students for school-related matters</li><li>Provide resources or workshops on positive mental health matters to students</li><li>Liaise with parents and provide support and guidance</li><li>Keep students’ management system up-to-date with pastoral care notes and matters</li><li>Collaborate with wellbeing team at the College as well as teachers and support staff</li></ul><p><strong>Performance Indicators</strong></p><ul><li>Provides support and guidance to students and staff</li><li>Regularly supports students through counselling sessions</li><li>Keeps case notes up-to-date through use of Synergetic</li><li>Works in collaboration with staff and wellbeing team</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications, Skills/Abilities</strong></p><ul><li>Diploma or Degree in Counselling or Psychology preferred; other qualifications considered</li><li>Teamwork</li><li>Adheres to privacy matters</li><li>Organised</li><li>Solution focused</li><li>Can work under pressure</li><li>A current first aid certificate (desirable)</li><li>Demonstration of the College values</li><li>Experience in providing wellbeing support and services</li><li>NSW Working With Children Clearance (essential)</li><li>Operate from a professional Christian perspective with parents, staff, students and visitors to uphold the Anglican ethos</li></ul><p><strong>College Values</strong></p><ul><li>Compassion</li><li>Honesty</li><li>Respect</li><li>Integrity</li><li>Service</li><li>Thankfulness</li></ul><p><i>Applications close Friday 13th September, but &#39;we reserve the right to appoint a suitable candidate before the advertised application period has expired.</i></p>
