<p><strong>Location:</strong>&nbsp;Calwell, ACT<br><strong>Employment Type:</strong>&nbsp;Temporary<br><strong>Employment Status: </strong>Part-time (38 hours per fortnight)<br><strong>Salary</strong>: $80,184 to $130,910&nbsp;full time equivalent plus superannuation. The Early Childhood Teacher works as a part of a team striving for excellence in teaching and learning, where relationships and partnerships are nurtured and respected, where children feel safe and develop a strong sense of identity.</p><p><strong>Benefits and Opportunities</strong></p><ul><li>A positive and collaborative workplace culture</li><li>Access to curriculum resources and professional development that support evidence-based early childhood teaching practice</li><li>24 weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption)</li><li>Up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carers leave)</li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Plan, implement and evaluate a high-quality preschool program guided by the Early Years Learning Framework in collaboration with other educators.</li><li>Implement the Religious Education program through prayer and exploration of scripture through story and play.</li><li>Review and evaluate programs and services to ensure they are accessible and responsive to the needs of the community.</li><li>Provide programs that are compliant with CECG policy and procedure, the National Quality Framework including National Law and Regulations and the National Quality Standards.</li><li>Communicate with families about the preschool program through formal and informal discussions and regular written reports.</li><li>Assess the developmental needs of children, including the need for referral to specialist services, and inform families.</li><li>Participate in community, Primary School and Parish events.</li><li>Adhere to mandatory reporting and child protection legislative requirements.</li><li>Participate in professional learning, staff appraisal and coaching and mentoring programs through whole school, ELC team and staff meetings.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Must have commenced or completed Initial Teacher Education (ITE) program in Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent.</li><li>Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) registrations.</li><li>Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) accreditation and NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p><ol><li>Excellent pedagogical skills to deliver play-based preschool program that is inclusive, based on recorded observations, analysis of learning and the developmental needs of children.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary Early Childhood theory and practice, including STEAM.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to document, monitor and assess child learning and use this data to inform educational programs and practices.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the capacity to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues, families and the broader community.</li><li>Thorough knowledge of the National Quality Standards, Quality Improvement Plans and the Early Years Learning Framework and how they influence the learning and teaching program.</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development to continually improve teaching practice and learning outcomes.</li><li>Knowledge of the National Quality Standards and a commitment to contribute to Quality Improvement Plan.</li></ol><p><i>Please refer to the role description for an in-depth detail regarding criteria and skill set required.&nbsp;</i><br>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Other Eligibility Criteria</strong></p><ul><li>You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible to apply for this position.</li><li>Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.</li></ul><p><strong>Application Process</strong></p><p>Applications are invited from interested candidates able to demonstrate a commitment to the vision of Catholic Education.</p><p>Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and current resume including a statement of suitability against the skills, attributes and experience as outlined in the position description.</p><p>This position involves working with children.
