<p><i>Salesian College Sunbury is a Catholic Co-educational Secondary College in the tradition of St John Bosco. Our vision embodies our commitment to Community, Learning, Excellence and Faith.</i></p><p>We are seeking an experienced practitioner to:</p><ul><li>professionally engage with young people and walk with them on their journey, acting as a positive role model in the Don Bosco tradition</li><li>play a crucial role in fostering strong relationships between the College, students, and their families</li><li>serve as a bridge of communication, support, and guidance, ensuring that families feel connected, informed, and valued within our College community</li><li>take a proactive approach in reaching out to parents of students who are experiencing College refusal, providing support and resources to address underlying issues and facilitate their return to College, and</li><li>partner with parents in the development of their child, collaborate with teachers, refer to relevant external assistance, and champion a wellbeing culture across the College.</li></ul><p>The successful candidate will demonstrate:</p><ul><li>bachelor&#39;s degree in Social Work or a related field including direct work with families in an education setting</li><li>minimum five years of experience, preferably in an educational setting, in case management and in counselling of vulnerable young people</li><li>strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with families from various backgrounds</li><li>knowledge of community resources and support services available to families</li><li>ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion, and</li><li>possess (or can obtain) a current Drivers Licence, Working with Children Check and National Police Check.</li></ul><p><strong>My Salesian Passport</strong><br /> </p><p>In 2024, we&#39;ve made an exciting new shift to a vertical curriculum.
