Responsible for promoting a challenging environment by devising, monitoring and delivering the educational program for gifted and/or talented students. The successful applicant will manage a small, friendly team of highly dedicated professionals to develop their professional capacity and maximise educational options for students in the Primary School, allowing them to achieve their personal best.

<p><u>Main Responsibility and Accountability Areas</u></p><ul><li>Live, support and uphold the Academy’s mission, vision and values. </li><li>Demonstrate a deep knowledge of gifted and talented education, 21st Century Skills and NESA requirements for K-6.</li><li>Provide a quality, differentiated learning program that meets the needs of all students in the Primary School.</li><li>Coordination of Practicum Students in the Primary School</li><li>Oversee the operation of the Primary School (K-6) including operational needs, student wellbeing and academic rigour and regulation.</li><li>Collaborate with with Coordinator of Wellbeing in Learning to conduct regular assemblies</li><li>Collaborate with with the Academic Coordinator to conduct Reach and NAPLAN assessments and other competitions</li><li>Coordinate/oversee Primary School Excursions.</li><li>Attend and present at Information Evenings and other sessions within the School.</li><li>Meet with parents and teachers to discuss student wellbeing, behaviour and academic progress</li><li>Model exemplary ethical behaviour and exercise informed judgements in all professional dealings and communications with students, colleagues and the community.</li><li>Participate in professional and community networks and forums to broaden knowledge and improve practice.</li></ul><p><br /><u>Selection Criteria</u></p><ul><li>Appropriate qualifications and experience in a K-6 Education Setting, Accreditation to teach with NSW NESA and Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)</li><li>Strong ICT Skills and the ability to integrate ICT into classroom learning</li><li>Demonstrated ability to create, manage and improve challenging and rigorous academic programmes for all KLAs scoped across K-6</li><li>Organisational skills and the ability to meet and exceed deadlines</li><li>Interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a creative and constructive team member</li><li>Discretion, confidentiality and the ability to manage situations in a professional manner</li><li>Proven ability to work collaboratively and lead effective teams</li><li>Experience handling complex wellbeing and regulatory matters.</li></ul><p> </p><p><u>Applicants are expected to provide:</u></p><ul><li>A cover letter (4 pages) to the Principal outlining suitability for the position and responds to selection criteria.</li><li>A Curriculum Vitae </li><li>Names and contact details of three referees, one of whom should be the applicant’s immediate supervisor.</li></ul><p>Applications To:<br />Mandi Randell<br />Principal<br />Central West Leadership Academy</p><p>Applications will be received via <a href="mailto:office&#64;theacademy.nsw.edu.au" rel="nofollow"><u>office&#64;theacademy.nsw.edu.au</u></a> until 4.00pm on the closing date.</p><p><strong>Applications Close</strong><br /><strong>September 13, 2024</strong></p>
