St. Francis de Sales is seeking a Principal who is an educational leader who inspires excellence, leads with strong faith, integrity and vision.

We own, govern and operate approximately 300 Catholic schools, employ over 16,000 staff and serve more than 114,000 students and their families in the Archdiocese of Melbourne. It is an exciting time to join MACS, where we are transforming to bring to life our recently launched strategic plan: MACS 2030: Forming Lives to Enrich the World. </p><p><strong>YOUR ROLE</strong></p><p>As a Principal, you will be inspired to lead a joy-filled community where students, staff, and families can flourish within a Catholic context. Your leadership will enable the vision of the school to be realised, creating an environment where everyone can reach their full potential. The role of the Principal is one of the most important roles across the MACS system, as their faith and educational leadership enables the vision of the school to be realised. This role will work in collaboration with MACS, staff members, local parish priests and the broader School community to achieve the identified goals of the school. </p><p><strong>ABOUT ST. FRANCIS DE SALES SCHOOL, OAK PARK</strong></p><p>St Francis de Sales School is located on Pascoe Vale Road Oak Park and is a welcoming and nurturing community providing an inclusive Catholic learning environment that strives to build faith, hope and opportunities to bloom.</p><p>The school was established in 1961 by the Sisters of Charity and was named after St Francis de Sales who demonstrated how to live the everyday life in the image of Christ.</p><p>The school prides itself on being an authentically Catholic community that encourages all learners to achieve success through critical thinking and reflection.</p><p>The successful applicant will be required to be an instructional leader, with strong pedagogical knowledge and highly developed inter-personal and communication skills.</p><p><strong>ABOUT THE COMMUNITY</strong></p><p>Partnerships with the parish and school are an important aspect of the St Francis de Sales community and continue to grow and strengthen.</p><p>The school has a current enrolment of 247 students and a staff team of 24.</p><p>Family involvement and positive relationships between school and families are seen essential to the success of the school, with teachers and parents working in partnership.</p><p>MACS is looking for a principal who will actively engage with the community, continuing to grow school enrolments and promote St Francis de Sales as the school of choice under their leadership.</p><p>*Enrolment numbers are correct at the time of publication.</p><p><strong>KEY SELECTION CRITERIA</strong></p><ul><li>Is an active member in good standing of a Catholic Church community, including Sunday attendance ( inclusive of Saturday vigil).</li><li>Demonstrated unwavering commitment to the safety and wellbeing of students, families, and staff members in schools, in line with current community safety standards and expectations.</li><li>Demonstrated ability in instructional leadership, including determining and implementing evidence-based learning and teaching programs and school curriculum.</li><li>Shows a strong commitment to fostering a workplace that prioritises health, safety and wellbeing for all staff, students, and those we interact with, including parents, carers, visitors, community members, contractors, and clergy.</li><li>Shows a strong commercial focus with proven results in enrolment growth, financial stability, and a commitment to risk mitigation.</li><li>Demonstrated understanding and enactment of the legislative and systemic compliance requirements applicable to all Catholic schools.</li><li>Ability to demonstrate strong faith leadership informed by the Church’s teaching and local mission, and the animation of the school community’s faith journey effectively.</li><li>Proven Senior/Executive leadership experience within schools/education environment.</li><li>Proven ability to effectively manage resources including workplans aligned with strategic outcomes.</li><li>Exceptional interpersonal skills that enable working effectively and building connections with all members of the school, MACS office, parish, broader church, educational system, other schools, and educational authorities.</li><li>Sets high standards for self and others in the leadership of pastoral care and the provision of an engaging education that provides multiple pathways and options for positive outcomes for young people.</li><li>A commitment to innovation and improvement across all aspects of achieving educational outcomes.</li><li>Strong coaching and leadership skills to enable team growth and development that supports continuous learning.</li></ul><p><strong>HOW TO APPLY</strong></p><p>Click <a href="https://cem.elmotalent.com.au/careers/careers/job/view/915" rel="nofollow">APPLY</a> to submit your application.</p><p>If you have any queries about this role, they can be directed to our team by email <a href="mailto:principalappointments@macs.vic.edu.au" rel="nofollow">principalappointments@macs.vic.edu.au</a></p><p>All applicants are required to submit a copy of:</p><ol><li>Certified evidence of Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.</li><li>Certified evidence of tertiary and further education qualifications, including accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school as referred to in your resume.</li><li> Current resume.</li><li>Cover letter addressing the key selection criteria limited to three pages.</li><li>The names and contact details of three referees including the Catholic priest of the parish you attend.
