<p>Wenona is seeking a Language Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant Languages Team. We are looking for a native Chinese speaker. You will be responsible for helping develop and inspire our young women through support with speaking skills in the classroom and beyond, refined professional knowledge and a commitment to high performance.</p><p>Wenona aims to encourage, challenge, extend and nurture each student in a way that allows her to achieve her full potential. To achieve this, Wenona prides itself on attracting intelligent, inspiring and motivated employees who serve to role model strong, positive relationships and is committed to fostering an environment where all staff are passionate about refining their skills and pursuing a love of learning.</p><p><strong>The Position</strong></p><p>The Language Assistant plays an important role, providing support to Language classes in Chinese, to students from years K - 12. This role will focus on providing students assistance by developing their skills and knowledge to better understand their chosen language. The Language Assistant will work closely and collaboratively with the Languages Department.</p><p>Key priorities for the role include:</p><ul><li>Implement contemporary teaching and learning pedagogies.</li><li>Commitment to Student Wellbeing and meeting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of students.</li><li>Contribute to a team and faculty of professional educators, through collaborative teaching practices.</li><li>Utilisation of ICT to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement beyond the classroom.</li><li>Communicate effectively and sensitively across a broad range of audiences.</li><li>Use of a variety of teaching methods which will simulate learning appropriate to student’s needs.</li><li>Ensure each student is able to reach her potential, through appropriate academic challenges.</li><li>Keep records and provide feedback on the progress and development of students’ language skills.</li></ul><p>This is a Casual position, covering Term 4, 2024.</p><p><a href="https://www.wenona.nsw.edu.au/ArticleDocuments/221/Role%20Description%20-%20Language%20Assistant.pdf.aspx?OverrideExpiry=Y" rel="nofollow"><u>For more details about the role and requirements, please refer to the attached role description.</u></a></p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>To be successful in this role, you will bring relevant experience and passion within your native language of Chinese. The role requires excellent communication skills, especially engaging with various stakeholders including students, parents and staff.
