St. Raphael's is seeking an outstanding Catholic education leader to work with a dynamic team and hold a position of trust and influence.

It is an exciting time to join MACS, where we are transforming to bring to life our recently launched strategic plan: MACS 2030: Forming Lives to Enrich the World.</p><p><strong>YOUR ROLE</strong></p><p>As a Principal, you will be inspired to lead a joy-filled community where students, staff, and families can flourish within a Catholic context. Your leadership will enable the vision of the school to be realised, creating an environment where everyone can reach their full potential. The role of the Principal is one of the most important roles across the MACS system, as their faith and educational leadership enables the vision of the school to be realised. This role will work in collaboration with MACS, staff members, local parish priests and the broader School community to achieve the identified goals of the school.  </p><p><strong>ABOUT ST. RAPHAEL’S, PRESTON WEST</strong></p><p>St Raphael’s was originally opened in 1936 and the two storey building and hall is situated on a one-hectare site. St. Raphael’s was established by the Good Samaritan Sisters and has a history of being ‘primary’ then ‘secondary’ and returning to a ‘primary’ school.</p><p>In recent times the outdoor learning areas have undergone major redevelopment, including sand pits, adventure playgrounds, landscaping, a bamboo forest, garden beds with native plants and seasonal fruit and vegetables, and purposeful outdoor learning environments that extend classroom learning.</p><p>St. Raphael’s has 12 home rooms with a combination of straight and composite classes and a current enrolment of 288 students from Prep to Year 6 with specialist programs in Physical Education, Performing Art, Italian, Science and Visual Art, as well as intervention programs in the areas of Reading Recovery and Maths. </p><p><strong>ABOUT THE COMMUNITY</strong></p><p>St. Raphael’s has a strong community spirit that acknowledges and fosters home / school / parish partnerships. In partnership with parents and Church, the school promotes and lives the gospel values and celebrates the Catholic faith and tradition and educates children to be confident, skilled and positive contributors to our world with the learning and teaching being innovative and dynamic where children learn to be active and independent learners and socially responsible people.</p><p>St Raphael’s is a place of ‘welcome’ and ‘belonging’ where community members are acknowledged and respected.
