St Gabriel’s School, Castle Hill is an exciting and innovative K-12 School for students with a primary diagnosis of a mild to moderate intellectual disability. Many of the students have additional disabilities such as autism and a sensory disability. We offer small classes, state of the art facilities and provide individualised student programs.

<p>The position advertised below would appeal to educators who are passionate about their teaching, enjoy working collaboratively, and wish to be part of a caring, dynamic, innovative and growing school community.  </p><p>The successful applicant will be appointed to the staff of the school, commencing as soon as possible. The candidate should have strengths that will contribute to dynamic teams that has high expectations of students. </p><p><i><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></i></p><ul><li>Qualifications and experience in teaching the primary curriculum;</li><li>Sound knowledge of evidence-based practices and pedagogy;</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to student wellbeing; </li><li>Accredited at or working towards Proficient Level through NESA;  </li><li>An ability to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons; </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills;  </li><li>Sound technology skills including the use of Interactive Whiteboards and iPads;  </li><li>Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships; </li><li>Collaborative team member;   </li><li>An ability to organise and direct teaching support staff;</li><li>Willingness to uphold the Catholic and Edmund Rice ethos of the School;</li><li>Commitment to the School’s Vision and Mission, Strategic Goals and the EREA Charter Touchstones;</li><li>Excellent organisational skills. </li></ul><p><i><strong>Desirable Criteria:</strong></i></p><ul><li>Experience in working with students with a range of disabilities;</li><li>Experience and/or qualifications in the area of Special Education;</li><li>Applicants should hold high expectations for teaching students with special needs and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues.</li></ul><p><i><strong>Benefits of Working at St Gabriel’s</strong></i></p><ul><li>St Gabriel’s is a Public Benevolent Institution.
