<p><strong>Position: Principal</strong></p><p><strong>Location: St Francis Catholic Primary School, Tannum Sands (current enrolment approx. 238 students)</strong><br /><strong>TEC Range: $192,333 to $210,107 including 12.75% Superannuation and Special Characteristics (OSHC)</strong><br /><strong>Tenure: Full Time</strong><br /><strong>Commencing: January 2025</strong><br /><strong>Closing Date: Friday 23 August 2024, 5:00pm</strong></p><p> </p><p>This is an exciting leadership opportunity to lead the school community of <strong>St Francis Catholic Primary School, Tannum Sands</strong> commencing January 2025.</p><p><strong>St Francis Catholic Primary School, Tannum Sands</strong> is part of a Catholic system of kindergartens, primary schools and colleges in the Diocese of Rockhampton (CEDR) encompassing rural and regional centres from Mackay, south to Bundaberg, and west to Longreach.</p><p>St Francis Catholic Primary School is a co-educational Catholic school situated in Tannum Sands and was founded in 2005 by Catholic Education – Diocese of Rockhampton. The school caters for students from Prep to Year 6 and offers an Outside School Hours program with Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care.</p><p>St Francis Catholic Primary School is a faith filled community of Jesus Christ and follows the Charism of St Francis of Assisi. We are guided by Gospel values and the education provided focuses on the spiritual, environmental and academic growth of the children. This is stated in our Mission as: ‘Journey together as Family in Peace through Love’. We work in partnership with parents/ guardians and our parish community to create a classroom, a school and ultimately a world, fit for all children.</p><p><strong>About the role</strong></p><p>As Principal, you will be a committed, practising Catholic educator with the capability to lead the religious life of the school and dedicated to ensuring students are provided with the very best opportunities to grow in faith and achieve success. Student engagement and wellbeing are nurtured within a positive, safe and supportive environment.</p><p>The Principal’s call to leadership is a call to respond to the centrality of Jesus Christ in all aspects of school life and serve the Mission of Catholic Education. The position of Principal provides for the leadership and management of quality Catholic schooling whilst allowing for personal growth and professional development within the role. </p><p>The Principal is the leading educator within the school, inspiring students, staff and members of the community to continuously enhance learning and personal growth while seeking to help others deepen their knowledge and experience of our Catholic faith.</p><p>In your role as Principal of St Francis Catholic Primary School, you will be supported by the staff of the Catholic Education Office in the areas of Teaching and Learning, Catholic Identity, Indigenous Education, ICT, Finance, Strategy, Business Development, Human Resources and Student Protection.</p><p>You will report to the Diocesan Director Catholic Education in the Diocese of Rockhampton through the Assistant Director: Schools (Southern Region).</p><p><strong>Key leadership qualities and capabilities</strong></p><ul><li>Promotes an authentic Catholic vision in the school's goals, policies, programs and structures</li><li>Displays confidence, curiosity, enthusiasm and optimism</li><li>Displays emotional intelligence in working with individuals and groups</li><li>Builds an inclusive, trusting community and cultivates productive working relationships</li><li>Is an effective coach with the capability to provide and receive constructive feedback.</li></ul><p><strong>We are seeking to appoint a leader who</strong></p><ul><li>is a practising Catholic with a sound understanding of, and commitment to, Catholic education</li><li>has experience of successful leadership in Catholic education</li><li>can foster a culture of inspirational teaching and learning and lead the development and implementation of school improvement initiatives</li><li>has the interpersonal skills to build partnerships within the school and with the local community</li><li>is willing to provide leadership in the areas of the duty statement</li><li>can lead in ways that are consistent with the message of Jesus and the Gospels and<ul><li>Catholic Church teachings, principles and values</li><li>Diocesan policies and directives</li><li>Catholic Education -
