Our College provides a learning and teaching environment that encourages striving for excellence for over 1100 students. As a Catholic school we support our students with a Pastoral Care structure and well-being programs as well as outstanding academic, sporting and cultural opportunities. MacKillop College is part of St Agnes’ Parish Secondary Schools which offers excellence and choice of three exceptional educational endeavours.</p><p><strong>Overview of role:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>The Assistant Principal - Pastoral Care has a co-responsible leadership role in contributing to the ongoing creation of the Catholic school as an animated, effective centre of Catholic identity and mission which ignites students’ passion to live an intentional faith life within the Church.</p><p>The Assistant Principal is a key member of the School Leadership Team (SLT) of a Catholic school, supporting a quad of leadership in the Principal and Assistant Principal Mission, Learning and Teaching, as well as others in the Leadership group as is seen fit. The Assistant Principal exercises a unique professional relationship of support and loyalty to the leadership of the principal and contributes in a way which shapes and implements the schools’ vision that reflects the Catholic character of the school.</p><p>The Assistant Principal is directly responsible to the Principal for the performance of his/her duties and can deputise in the absence of the Principal. The Assistant Principal works closely with the Principal in the complex nature of school leadership and to enhance their own professional learning. The Assistant Principal contributes to the collaborative decision-making processes and leads in the planning, implementation and evaluation of school goals in school improvement.</p><p><strong>Selection Criteria:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Relevant teaching and postgraduate qualifications at Masters Level or above in an appropriate field for the position, e.g. Educational Leadership or willingness to obtain.</li><li>Leads by example through a commitment to the Catholic faith, responsive to Jesus’ mission to those on the margins of society.</li><li>Leadership experience in Catholic schools in the domain of student wellbeing and pastoral care.</li><li>Experience leading and implementing the School and Diocesan Strategic Plans and accountabilities.</li><li>Able to lead pastoral care programs and strategies to support student wellbeing; with high-level understanding of policy compliance requirements for ensuring student wellbeing and safety.</li><li>Highly developed relational skills as evident in interactions with staff, students and families.</li><li>Compliance with or progress towards compliance with <a href="https://csolismore.schoolzineplus.com/_file/media/2304/accreditation_to_work_teach_lead.pdf">Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead policy</a> as prescribed by the Bishops of NSW.</li></ul><p>Your application should address the <strong>criteria above</strong>.</p><p><strong>Referee Reports&nbsp;</strong>are required from shortlisted candidates who have been invited to interview.
