We are seeking a enthusiastic and passionate Trade Assistant to join our College.

<p><strong>Trade Assistant</strong></p><p><strong>Fixed term, part-time contract </strong></p><p><strong>Working 3 days per week - 8.00am to 3.30pm.</strong></p><p> </p><p>A Catholic Co-educational College for students in Years 7 – 10, Catholic Regional College North Keilor welcomes all applications for a Trades Assistant to join the College on a part-time fixed term contract for the remainder of the 2024 school year.  </p><p>This role does not require a trade qualification.  We will offer hands on training to the right applicant who possess an enthusiastic approach to work and a strong desire to learn. </p><p> </p><p><strong>About the role:</strong></p><p>The Trades Assistant will assist teaching staff to provide a learning environment and program that is conducive to ensuring quality outcomes for students in the Materials Technology Department. In this position you will be responsible for the ordering of learning and teaching materials, preparing materials and establishing and maintaining the asset register, as well as assisting in the classroom. </p><p> </p><p>The Trade Assistant will be responsible for:</p><ul><li>Preparing all requests for subject material for individual classes in a timely manner with due consideration to priorities. </li><li>Dressing rough sawn timber</li><li>Machining and preparation of materials (wood, plastics and metals).</li><li>Organise or maintain good working order of all tools, including electrical tools</li><li>Keeping the machine area in order, and where appropriate tidying and cleaning this space </li><li>Providing classroom support during classes, both as a teacher’s aide in the classroom and through preparing materials in the machine shop </li><li>Ordering materials and equipment, including reconciling invoices, providing appropriate paperwork to relevant departments and correcting problems with orders </li><li>Receiving and processing deliveries.</li><li>Picking up orders when required</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Skills and Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, and able to build in flexibility when necessary.</li><li>Knowledge and experience in ordering of materials, scheduling of maintenance, and general logistics preferable</li><li>Basic understanding in the use and care of tools, equipment and technology</li><li>Ability to learn and maintain new technology/equipment</li><li>Assist in the provision of a child-safe environment for all students</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Why join CRC North Keilor?</strong></p><p>We take pride in being an inclusive faith community that welcomes and values all the students, families and staff at our College, and you will be part of a supportive and positive environment.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Applications close at 5pm on 9th August, 2024.</strong></p><p> </p><p>Resumes will be reviewed as they are submitted.  </p><p>Only short listed candidates will be contacted.</p><p> </p><p><i>The College adheres to all Child Safety Standards and promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.</i></p><p> </p>
