Cedar College is seeking a qualified counsellor to provide pastoral care and biblical guidance to students whose mental health and wellbeing is challenged from various factors.

<p><strong>POSITION OVERVIEW</strong></p><p>Position Title: Cedar Care Counsellor </p><p><strong>Commencing:</strong> Term 4, 2024</p><p><strong>Type:</strong> Contract</p><p><strong>FTE equivalent:</strong> 12 Month Contract, 22.5 hours per week over 2 or 3 days, 40 weeks per year &#43; 4 holiday weeks paid</p><p><strong>Reports to</strong>: Cedar Care Coordinator</p><p><strong>Salary: </strong>Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.</p><p> </p><p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong></p><p>The Cedar Care Counsellor supports school leadership through the application of specialist professional knowledge and strategies to identify and address student needs, in order to promote student safety, wellbeing, and to facilitate successful learning. As a qualified professional, they will work with school leaders, staff, families and external agencies to support the wellbeing of students and provide confidential counselling to students. The Cedar Care Counsellor is to approach their role with a Christian Worldview, and undertake their role in line with the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the College as communicated by the College Pastor and College Leadership Team.</p><p><a href="https://www.cedarcollege.sa.edu.au/downloads/PID/PID-CedarCareCounsellor-Term42024.pdf" rel="nofollow"><strong>Download the Position Information Document here.</strong></a></p><p>Applicants will need to demonstrate a sincere commitment to Jesus Christ and the philosophy of Christian Education. Applicants will also demonstrate an active involvement in their local church and align themselves with the College’s core beliefs.<br /> </p><p><strong>DETAILS SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION</strong></p><p>The successful applicant will work closely with the Cedar Care team and College Leadership.<br />They will have a vibrant, growing relationship with God and be a committed member of their local church. They will be able to work effectively as part of a team in a collaborative and unified manner and have excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills with staff, students and parents. They will be teachable, and committed to the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the College. The ability to counsel in conjunction with a Christian Worldview is essential.<br /><br />Along with the relevant qualifications to undertake counselling work, applicants are required to hold a current RRHAN-EC Certificate (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect<br />– Education and Care), current WWCC (Working with Children Check), and compete the Protective Practices online course (which can be completed upon commencement of employment).</p><p><br /><strong>ABOUT CEDAR CARE</strong></p><p>Cedar Care exists to provide pastoral care to students whose mental health and wellbeing is challenged by various factors.
