<p>Macarthur is an independent Anglican co-educational Transition to Year 12 school with a strong academic and co-curricular focus catering for students of all ability levels. It is located in picturesque Cobbitty on over 85 magnificent acres, 50 minutes from the CBDs of Sydney and Wollongong. The School is highly regarded as an employer of choice and provides a supportive workplace that pursues excellence and innovation. </p><p>The Headmaster is seeking to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced Christian educator to this full-time permanent position. The successful candidate will join the highly professional, dynamic, industrious Science Faculty. A willingness to teach Physics and Chemistry will be a distinct advantage.</p><p>The staff of Macarthur are beneficiaries of an Apple laptop computer (for the duration of employment), a supportive Christian teaching environment and well-resourced facilities within the newly constructed Warren Integrated Studies HUB. This building opened in 2021 and contains the teaching spaces for the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Technology and Creative Design.</p><p>Candidates for this role will be required to demonstrate:</p><ul><li>a passion for teaching Science across Stages 4, 5 and 6;</li><li>a deep knowledge and understanding of the broad Science curriculum across disciplines;</li><li>a passion for Physics, Chemistry and Stages 4 and 5 Science;</li><li>an understanding of and commitment to student well-being;</li><li>well-developed written, oral and organisational skills;</li><li>an innovative approach to teaching and learning;</li><li>a comprehensive understanding of classroom differentiation;</li><li>a commitment to detailed and timely feedback to students; and,</li><li>a deep understanding of how students think and learn.</li></ul><p>The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate an innovative use of ICT in teaching and learning, proficiency in writing teaching programmes, and an understanding of best practices in student assessment and feedback.
