The Science Laboratory Assistant will contribute to the effective and efficient management of the Science program by providing technical support to the faculty and maintaining teaching and laboratory facilities.</p><p><strong>About the contract:</strong> </p><p>The position is<strong> fixed term until 15.11.2024, part time (8.5 hours per week), term time.</strong></p><p><strong>About you:</strong></p><p>To be considered for this role you will need:</p><ul><li>Commitment to the goals, ethos and mission of the College as a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition.</li><li>A paid Working with Children Blue Card or eligibility to have one.</li><li>Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent experience.</li><li>Current Drivers Licence.</li><li>Current First Aid/CPR qualification (desirable)</li><li>Sound knowledge of all strands of Science, including Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space, and Physics.</li><li>Sound knowledge and understanding of hazardous chemical management.</li><li>Commitment to safe work practices and adherence to Work Health and Safety procedures.</li><li>Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.</li></ul><p><strong>About our Organisation</strong></p><p>Ignatius Park College is a boys’-only Catholic secondary school located in Townsville, North Queensland.  The College is a member of the Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) network of 55 schools across Australia.
