Cranbrook School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our dynamic team as Head of Choral and Piano P-12, commencing Term 4, 2024.

<p><strong>ABOUT THE POSITION</strong></p><p>The Head of Choral and Piano P-12 is responsible for the formation, execution and implementation of the Choral and Piano Programme from Pre-school to Year 12, across both the cocurricular and curricular programme. This includes coordination of the instrumental lesson programme, peripatetic staff within Voice and Piano, cocurricular vocal ensembles, and all accompaniment requirements of the School.</p><p>Cranbrook School staff enjoy a stimulating work environment as part of a team of talented professionals, excellent opportunities for professional development, and attractive remuneration and benefits. They take an active and enthusiastic part in the full life of the School, including in the co-curricular program requiring work outside normal teaching hours.</p><p><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></p><p>Possessing formal music qualifications, you have a track record of developing high performing young musicians, the skills and confidence to manage student behaviour and a demonstrated ability to both inspire young people to find their passion in music and motivate students at differing levels of ability.</p><p>You have a willingness to work outside of regular school hours for performances and events and are prepared to contribute to all aspects of School life.</p><p>You are dynamic, innovative and creative in your approach to teaching, a dedicated practitioner and display outstanding musicianship. You are enthusiastic, capable of working collaboratively within a dynamic music team, display excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to build authentic relationships with students, parents and colleagues. </p><p><strong>SELECTION CRITERIA</strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrated skills as an exceptional piano accompanist</li><li>Extensive experience in directing choirs at all levels</li><li>Demonstrated skills in playing and teaching voice and/or piano</li><li>Certificate of Kodaly and/or Orff Schulwerk training</li><li>Strong knowledge of music theory, music history and different musical genres</li><li>Capacity to create a motivating and engaging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all learners </li><li>Creative mindset and ability to design interactive and dynamic lessons</li><li>Organisational skills to manage schedules, events and student records</li><li>Passion for music education and a commitment to fostering a love for music in students</li><li>A level of mobility that supports the ability to respond to a first aid / behavioural incident</li><li>Current First Aid and CPR qualifications </li><li>A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children </li><li>A demonstrated understanding of child safety and appropriate behaviours when engaging with children. </li></ul><p>Teaching qualifications and NESA accreditation to teach in New South Wales will be highly regarded.
