<p>Applications are invited for the position of <strong>Assistant Principal: Mission</strong> to join the leadership team at Marist College, Emerald.</p><p>In this leadership position you will exhibit a deep commitment to providing quality Catholic education, participate in the faith life of the parish, as well as have appropriate teaching experience, academic qualifications and leadership qualities.</p><p>The position of Assistant Principal: Mission acknowledges the important and distinctive place of religious education and faith development within Catholic schools. The Assistant Principal: Mission focuses on providing leadership in religious education, including the religious life of the school, according to Catholic Education – Diocese of Rockhampton policies and procedures.</p><p>We are seeking a faith inspired professional educator with vision, energy and a demonstrated commitment to the welfare of students. </p><p><strong>This is a full-time position commencing from 20 January 2025.</strong></p><p><strong>Key Characteristics</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Enhancing Catholic Ethos and Identity:</strong> Fostering the religious life of the school through Christian witness, active participation in a parish, promotion of Gospel Values and the provision of quality Religious Education.</li><li><strong>Leading, Teaching and Learning:</strong> Ability to develop and implement high quality learning and teaching programs.</li><li><strong>Developing self and others:</strong> Supporting others and building capacity with a focus on continuous improvement of teaching and learning.</li><li><strong>Leading improvement, innovation and change:</strong> Aligning strategic goals and initiatives with the vision and mission of the school and School Review and Improvement Processes.</li><li><strong>Engaging and working with the community:</strong> Ability to foster and develop appropriate relationships with school staff, students, parents, clergy, parishioners and the wider community.</li></ul><p><strong>Key leadership qualities and capabilities</strong></p><p>We are seeking to appoint a leader who</p><ul><li>is a practising Catholic with a sound understanding of, and commitment to Catholic education</li><li>can foster a culture of inspirational teaching and learning and lead the development and implementation of school improvement initiatives</li><li>has the interpersonal skills to build partnerships within the school and with the local community</li><li>is willing to provide leadership in areas delegated by the Principal in the APRE duty statement, and<ul><li>can lead in ways that are consistent with the message of Jesus and the Gospels</li><li>Catholic church teachings, principles and values</li><li>Diocesan policies and directives</li><li>The Catholic Education Diocese of Rockhampton Charter</li><li>Catholic Education Mission and Vision Statements, policies, practices and strategic directions.</li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>About us</strong></p><p><strong>Marist College, Emerald </strong>is a catholic co-educational secondary college situated in the Central Highlands, three hours west of Rockhampton.
