We welcome applications from both graduate and experienced teachers who would like to be part of an exciting initiative in the implementation of the Resilience Project as a specialist subject for Semester 2 of this year. Newly graduated teachers may particularly find this as a wonderful pathway to further enhancing their teaching craft prior to moving into teaching their own class next year.

<p><strong><u>Context</u></strong><br />St Catherine of Siena Catholic Primary School is seeking a teacher to fill the specialist Resilience Project teaching role for the remainder of the 2024 school year. This is a new initiative for the school and is using the remainder of this year (Term 3 &amp; 4)  to implement the program as a specialist program providing every class with one our of instruction weekly. In 2025, the Resilience Project program will then be implemented by all classroom teachers with the specialist Resilience Project teacher moving to a fulltime classroom position. </p><p><strong><u>Position</u></strong><br />The successful applicant must:</p><ul><li>be faith filled with a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school and to the spiritual, emotional, social and educational wellbeing of all students</li><li>show exemplary learning and teaching skills with the capacity to engage students in a rich learning environment and a desire to share this knowledge in a professional, collaborative and collegial way with their team</li><li>have strong interpersonal, organisation and communication skills to lead and build a strong collaborative teaching team focused on student learning, wellbeing and explicit data driven explicit teaching practice.</li><li>enjoy working with students from a diverse range of backgrounds </li><li>ability to apply EAL best practise in their learning &amp; teaching practice</li><li>have a thorough knowledge of assessment strategies, be adept at analysing these and use this data effectively to inform teaching instruction</li><li>have an understanding of contemporary learning such as H.I.T.S. and the Victorian Curriculum.</li><li>be able to commence in the role of teacher and team leader at the start of Term 3, 2024. We acknowledge that there may be a need to negotiate a starting date if the successful applicant is currently employed at another school.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Special Requirements</u></strong></p><p>The successful applicant needs to:</p><ul><li>be eager to embrace the Catholic ethos of our school</li><li>be accredited to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school or agree to achieve this within the next 3 years</li><li>be committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this and to ongoing evaluation of these practices</li><li>committed to maintaining the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic School Child Safe Code of Conduct standards.</li><li>hold a current VIT registration</li></ul><p><strong>Commitment to Child Safety</strong></p><p>At St Catherine of Siena we are dedicated to maintaining a child safe environment where each child feels safe and free to enjoy the day to the full without any concern for their safety.
