<p>We have an exciting opportunity, Position of Leadership as Year Level Coordinator, commencing Term 1, 2025. This is a POL3 for three years. </p><p>Remuneration will be based on experience, following the Teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA).</p><p>De La Salle College is an integral part of the faith community of Malvern and Malvern East. MACS is the employer of employees at De La Salle College. </p><p> </p><p>We seek candidates with strong teamwork abilities, effective classroom management skills, and a dedicated commitment to the values of Catholic Education and contemporary pedagogues.</p><p><strong><u>Job Description:</u></strong></p><p>Your primary responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>Liaise with the Class Mentors in their year level, Director of Students (Middle Years) and / or Assistant Principal - Students and Student Psychologists to manage the pastoral care and personal counselling programs of all students in their year level, referring and maintaining communication with specialist staff when necessary;</li><li>Ensure, where appropriate, that teaching staff are informed of any issues affecting students in their year level;</li><li>Be aware of the social, emotional, physical, academic and spiritual development of students in the year level, including the orientation of new students;</li><li>Deal with students who seriously and/or continually break the rules and who fail to respond to reasonable methods implemented by the classroom teacher;</li><li>Ensure that all members of the year level are familiar with, and reference, the De La Salle College Student Behaviour Policy;</li><li>Supervise Friday and Saturday detentions on a rostered basis </li><li>To communicate information to staff which is pertinent to the student’s social, emotional, physical, spiritual and academic wellbeing;</li><li>To be an active member of the College’s Wellbeing Team to discuss issues, develop and evaluate policy regarding student wellbeing;</li><li>To meet regularly with the Year Level Class Mentors and Year Level Support Staff;</li><li>Adhering to the school's Child Protection Policy and Child Safety Staff Code of Conduct.</li><li>Ensuring up-to-date student data management systems.</li><li>Complying with ongoing professional development requirements as per VIT guidelines.</li><li>Actively engaging in internal and external professional development to enhance teaching practices.</li><li>Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively engage students in their learning journey.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Skills/Experience Required:</u></strong></p><p>We require the following qualifications and qualities in the ideal candidate:</p><ul><li>Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.</li><li>Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.</li><li>A strong commitment to Catholic education.</li><li>Ability to build and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.</li><li>Skills to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.</li><li>An eagerness to learn and grow in the field of education.</li><li>Proficiency in implementing a differentiated curriculum and leveraging modern technology to support student learning.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Special Requirements:</u></strong></p><p>At De La Salle College, the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children are paramount. Therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.</p><p>The successful applicant must hold a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.
