<p>We have an exciting opportunity, Position of Leadership as Education Support Coordinator, commencing Term 1, 2025. This is a POL3 for 1 year. </p><p>Remuneration will be based on experience, following the Teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA).</p><p>De La Salle College is an integral part of the faith community of Malvern and Malvern East. MACS is the employer of employees at De La Salle College. </p><p>We seek candidates with strong teamwork abilities, effective classroom management skills, and a dedicated commitment to the values of Catholic Education and contemporary pedagogues.</p><p><strong><u>Job Description:</u></strong></p><p>Your primary responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>To oversee the programs and services offered by the College students Years 5-12 with special needs, including integration;</li><li>To lead a team of Education Support Teachers in effectively managing the support arrangements for students allocated to them.</li><li>To coordinate the work of a working group assembled to attend to Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) requirements and funding submissions;</li><li>To liaise, where appropriate, with the Director of Learning and Development – Student Progression, and the Year 7 Year Level Coordinator in relation to:</li><li>arrangement of assessment of incoming Year 7 students, with a view to making recommendations for class groupings;</li><li>administration of NAPLAN tests and interpretation of NAPLAN data.</li><li>To work in consultation with the appropriate Director of Learning and Development in the development of a Department Strategic Plan;</li><li>To prepare and monitor the Education Support budget;</li><li>To actively participate, as appropriate, in Learning and Teaching Leaders and other College meetings;</li><li>To contribute to student transition activities such as student assemblies and parent information nights;</li><li>Adhering to the school's Child Protection Policy and Child Safety Staff Code of Conduct.</li><li>Ensuring up-to-date student data management systems.</li><li>Complying with ongoing professional development requirements as per VIT guidelines.</li><li>Actively engaging in internal and external professional development to enhance teaching practices.</li><li>Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively engage students in their learning journey.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Skills/Experience Required:</u></strong></p><p>We require the following qualifications and qualities in the ideal candidate:</p><ul><li>Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.</li><li>Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.</li><li>A strong commitment to Catholic education.</li><li>Ability to build and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.</li><li>Skills to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.</li><li>An eagerness to learn and grow in the field of education.</li><li>Proficiency in implementing a differentiated curriculum and leveraging modern technology to support student learning.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Special Requirements:</u></strong></p><p>At De La Salle College, the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children are paramount. Therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.</p><p>The successful applicant must hold a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.
