We have an exciting opportunity, Position of Leadership as House Coordinator, commencing Term 1, 2025. This is a POL3 for three years.

This is a POL3 for three years.&nbsp;</p> <p>Remuneration will be based on experience, following the Teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA).</p> <p>De La Salle College is an integral part of the faith community of Malvern and Malvern East. &nbsp;De La Salle College&nbsp;is governed under the authority of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Limited (MACS). MACS is the employer of employees at De La Salle College.&nbsp;</p> <p>We seek candidates with strong teamwork abilities, effective classroom management skills, and a dedicated commitment to the values of Catholic Education and contemporary pedagogues.</p> <p><strong><u>Job Description:</u></strong></p> <p>Your primary responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li>Guide and support staff and students to create a learning environment and culture that promotes student wellbeing and resilience;</li> <li>Set the professional standards for members of their team – supporting the performance and development of House Mentors in coming to understand the intrinsic links between wellbeing and learning;</li> <li>Assume responsibility for monitoring the overall wellbeing and needs of students, including personal and social/emotional problems, academic progress and the orientation of new students;</li> <li>Support the transition, subject selection, attendance and promotion policies and procedures of the College;</li> <li>Be available to discuss matters concerning particular students with parents/guardians and House Mentors;</li> <li>Communicate information to staff which is pertinent to the student’s social, emotional, physical, spiritual and&nbsp; academic wellbeing;</li> <li>Be an active member of the College’s Wellbeing Team to develop, champion and evaluate policy supporting restorative practices, student engagement and wellbeing;</li> <li>Liaise with the Education Support Coordinator in the creation of specific individual learning plans;</li> <li>Meet regularly with the student leaders in their House;</li> <li>Chair Student Support Meetings with the Director of Students (Senior Years), School Psychologist and the Education Support Coordinator, when required, and oversee the follow-up of agreed actions;</li> <li>Ensure that all&nbsp;House Mentors are familiar with the attendance, progression, behaviour and uniform policies and procedures, and that these are consistently applied;</li> <li>Adhering to the school's Child Protection Policy and Child Safety Staff Code of Conduct.</li> <li>Ensuring up-to-date student data management systems.</li> <li>Complying with ongoing professional development requirements as per VIT guidelines.</li> <li>Actively engaging in internal and external professional development to enhance teaching practices.</li> <li>Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively engage students in their learning journey.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Skills/Experience Required:</u></strong></p> <p>We require the following qualifications and qualities in the ideal candidate:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.</li> <li>Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.</li> <li>A strong commitment to Catholic education.</li> <li>Ability to build and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.</li> <li>Skills to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.</li> <li>An eagerness to learn and grow in the field of education.</li> <li>Proficiency in implementing a differentiated curriculum and leveraging modern technology to support student learning.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Special Requirements:</u></strong></p> <p>At De La Salle College, the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children are paramount. Therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.</p> <p>The successful applicant must hold a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.
