<p><strong>Location:</strong> Catholic Education Office, Wollongong</p><p>The Director of Schools Diocese of Wollongong, invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this permanent full time position with Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) commencing as soon as possible.</p><p><strong>WHY WORK FOR CATHOLIC EDUCATION IN THE DIOCESE OF WOLLONGONG (CEDoW)</strong></p><p>We provide our team with:</p><ul><li>Excellent professional &amp; development programs, tailored to your needs</li><li>An environment that encourages innovation and collaboration through education</li><li>A platform to contribute to the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community</li><li>Flexible Working Opportunities</li><li>Competitive Remuneration</li><li>A fully maintained tool of trade motor vehicle in accordance with CEDoW policy</li><li>Salary Packaging</li></ul><p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong></p><p>The Finance, Facilities and Planning team works directly with the full range of stakeholders across CEDoW to deliver both a best practice finance and procurement service and to ensure our physical locations, facilities and buildings provide an innovative and fit-for-purpose environment that enables great learning and student outcomes across our 38 schools.</p><p>This position reports to the School Facilities Maintenance Manager (Finance and Facilities) and forms part of the School Properties Office team who work closely with a range of stakeholders to provide school site maintenance and coordination services across the 38 Catholic schools in the Diocese of Wollongong.</p><p>In addition to providing school site maintenance and coordination services the successful candidate will:</p><ul><li>Model Catholic values in everyday interactions between school staff and other agencies with an understanding and commitment to the mission of Catholic Education within the evangelising mission of the Church</li><li>Prioritise and coordinate facilities maintenance work across all school &amp; land sites</li><li>Support schools with planning and executing school facilities maintenance and minor capital works</li><li>Report on the service delivery and response times through monitoring and management of the maintenance request system</li><li>Ensure service providers and schools meet their WHS responsibilities during maintenance and minor capital work activities</li><li>Maintain the Maintenance Management system through work planning, execution and history recording</li><li>Assist in the development of operational and executive reporting</li><li>Lead service provider procurement and assist in contract execution, ensuring CEDoW financial procedures are adhered to</li><li>Lead safety inspections and incident investigations&nbsp;</li><li>Lead root cause analysis for significant unplanned asset failures or breakdowns</li></ul><p><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></p><p>The successful candidate will be someone who has:</p><ul><li>Tertiary Qualifications in&nbsp; a relevant property building trade, engineering or maintenance discipline and</li><li>5 years experience in a similar property, maintenance or facilities role</li><li>An understanding of facility maintenance programs and systems</li><li>Experience in use of maintenance request or help desk systems</li><li>Experience with Contractor management and procurement processes&nbsp;</li><li>Comprehensive understanding of WHS responsibilities aligned with WHS Acts and Regulations</li><li>Positive interpersonal skills, including high emotional intelligence</li><li>Good office management skills, document/records management</li><li>Meeting preparation and recording</li><li>Report development and management</li><li>Data analysis</li><li>Ability to display initiative, discretion, sound judgement and confidentiality</li></ul><p>The following items are desirable:</p><ul><li>Degree/Diploma Qualification in Property, Engineering or Facilities Management</li><li>Experience working in a school environment</li></ul><p><strong>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</strong></p><p>This role is classified as child related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.</p><p><strong>POSITION APPLICATION</strong></p><p>Applicants are to complete an online application which asks to briefly address the essential criteria (the dot points in the ‘ABOUT YOU’ section of this position advertisement).
