Staff at Lumen Christi develop contemporary learning and teaching strategies in a balanced approach to explicit instruction, high impact teaching strategies and inquiry learning.</p><p><strong>Benefits and Opportunities</strong></p><ul><li>A positive and collaborative workplace culture</li><li>Extensive training in our high-quality professional learning program, Catalyst</li><li>Access to curriculum resources that support evidence-based, high impact teaching practice</li><li>24 weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption)</li><li>Up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carer leave)</li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Assist the Learning Enrichment Teachers with programs for students with additional needs.</li><li>Work closely with students who are identified as requiring assistance.</li><li>Report regularly to the Learning Support Teachers on progress of students under their care.</li><li>Keep records of student progress.</li><li>Attend Professional Development days as required.</li><li>Keep abreast of developments in the area of Special Needs.</li><li>Work in a variety of classrooms alongside students, assisting the classroom teacher in accommodating the needs of the individual students through recommended strategies and adjustments which allow them to access the curriculum</li><li>Act as an advocate for students with diverse learning needs and liaise with all relevant parties (student, teachers, parents, support staff)</li><li>Support student’s literacy needs in testing situations – for example act as a scribe or reader</li><li>Assist students with organisation and communication</li><li>Provision of individualised support where required</li><li>Assistance and supervision of task completion</li><li>Preparation of support materials</li><li>Supports student with literacy and numeracy needs across all curriculum areas</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Must hold a relevant Working with Children (WWCC) registration and Teaching Accreditation (NESA)</li><li>Minimum completed Cert IV in Education Support</li><li>In accordance with the Catholic Education, Religious Education Framework you must have completed or be willing to complete Category A Accreditation &nbsp;in Religious Education</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p><ol><li>Demonstrated ability or potential to be an effective Learning Enrichment Assistant employing a wide range of classroom strategies, including the integration of learning technologies and reflecting an understanding of current teaching &amp; learning theories.</li><li>Evidence of an ability to foster within students a sense of belonging, community and connection in their learning.
