<p>We are currently seeking a full time College Psychologist, commencing 26 August 2024. This is a short-term leave replacement role concluding on 4 October 2024. </p><p>De La Salle College is an integral part of the faith community of Malvern and Malvern East.  De La Salle College is governed under the authority of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Limited (MACS). MACS is the employer of employees at De La Salle College.</p><p> Remuneration is based on experience in accordance with the Education Support Officer – Category B scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (<i>CEMEA</i>)</p><p>Job description:</p><ul><li>Provide counselling to students for a range of presenting concerns through self-referral, teacher referral and parent referral. Other school staff such as the Assistant Principal – Students, Director of Students/Head of Campus, Year Level/House Coordinators and Class/House Mentors may also make referrals;</li><li>Experience and competence using evidence based practices in counselling students (e.g. CBT, ACT) and where appropriate the provision of recommendation/s or referrals to external practitioners for ongoing care;</li><li>A good knowledge and understanding of diversity of the student population and school community (e.g. ADHD, ASD, Giftedness, Specific Learning Disorders) and principles and practices for inclusion;</li><li>Advocating for students with special needs and other presenting concerns;</li><li>Keeping and maintenance of individual records, files and notes;</li><li>Collection, collation and maintenance of practice related data, e.g. caseload demographics, outcome measures;</li><li>Consulting with the Assistant Principal – Students (in the first instance) or the Principal when dealing with matters that relate to Child Safety; </li></ul><p>Skills/Experience required:</p><ul><li>Tertiary qualifications </li><li>A member (or eligible for membership) of a PACFA affiliated body or the APS;</li><li>Experience in conducting therapeutic groups;</li><li>Sound knowledge of legal and ethical considerations in an educational setting;</li><li>Appropriate AHPRA registration and Public Liability Insurance </li><li>An ability to develop and maintain professional and caring relationships with students and colleagues.</li><li>Experience in a similar role </li><li>Experience in Education industry is advantageous </li></ul><p>Special Requirements:</p><ul><li>De La Salle College promotes the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all children; therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.</li><li>The successful applicant will hold a Working with Children Check and Police Check.</li><li>Contact details of two referees. </li></ul><p>Join our passionate team at De La Salle College and contribute to nurturing young minds in a supportive and thriving educational community.
