Library Assistant Permanent Part Time

The Library Assistant works collaboratively with other school staff to provide support and assistance
to teachers, students and school leadership in the successful delivery of school learning and pastoral
outcomes.
<p><strong>Location: </strong>Gilroy Catholic College - Castle Hill</p><p>Gilroy Catholic College at Castle Hill is looking for a <strong>Library Assistant</strong> to be responsible for facilitating access to information and resources to support teaching and learning, as well as maintaining effective and efficient organisation of resources and equipment. This is a permanent part time position offering 32.5 hours per fortnight. You must be available to work:</p><p>- Week 1 Monday and Tuesday from 8:15am until 3:15pm</p><p>- Week 2 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8:15am until 3:15pm</p><p>In this role, you will provide assistance and support to staff and students, and promote an environment where learning is valued and appreciated.</p><p><strong>More specifically you will: </strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrate a commitment to the mission of Catholic Education </li><li>Have a high level of customer service skills</li><li>Have a high level of oral and written communication skills</li><li>Have library cataloguing skills and knowledge of current library technological practices</li><li>Have computer skills using a range of programs, with the ability to create material to support information literacy programmes in the school</li><li>Have the ability to use library and information systems, databases and other technology to support staff and students</li><li>Be willing to undertake ongoing professional learning and training</li><li>Have an interest and capacity to work with emerging technologies</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications & Experience: </strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrated relevant experience </li><li>Working with Children Check clearance</li><li>Diploma of Library and Information Services, or Certificate IV in Library and Information Services</li></ul><p>We believe that our employee community is a key strength of our organisation and we aim to attract the best talent to achieve our strategic goal of being leaders in quality, faith-based education and an Employer of Choice in our sector.
