The Teacher's Aide provides assistance in the form of support to teachers, individuals and/or groups of students in a classroom setting.

<p><strong>Location: </strong>St John XXIII Catholic College (Secondary)</p><p>The Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta is looking for a passionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant to provide support to a variety of students from K-12 under the direction of the Diversity Team Leader and the classroom teacher.&nbsp;</p><p>Teacher aide's are accountable for:</p><ul><li>Support of the mission, teachings and ethos of the Catholic Church’s work in schools.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines.</li><li>Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills in working with a range of personnel.</li><li>Strong planning and organisation skills.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to maintain the quality of assigned work.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to adjust to the changing needs of the school.</li></ul><p><strong>Experience and Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Appropriate qualifications in Educational Support.</li><li>Current practical experience working across K-12.&nbsp;</li><li>Willing to work across a K-12 setting.</li><li>Experience in personal care is an advantage.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p><ul><li>A commitment to the goals of Catholic education and a readiness to foster the aims and vision of the school in the wider community;</li><li>Applies knowledge in areas and a range of skills in a variety of roles and tasks;</li><li>Uses discretion and judgement in organising and achieving outcomes in time constraints;</li><li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills, in particular the ability to relate well to students and to work in teams with staff members;</li><li>Initiative and the ability to handle a number of tasks concurrently, working independently and flexibly to adjust to changing situations;</li></ul><p><strong>Days of Work</strong></p><ul><li>Monday to Friday and/or casual employment 8.30am to 3.00pm</li></ul><p><strong>The Organisation</strong></p><p>Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.&nbsp;</p><p>This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CEDP’s Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.</p><p>CEDP promotes the safety and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds.
