The College promotes the pursuit of academic excellence and social responsibility supporting its staff and families to meet the high expectations for the achievement and holistic development of its students in our local, national, and international communities.</p><p>We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Head of Department PDHPE/K - 12 Sports Coordinator to join our team from term 3, 2024. This is a full-time position commencing on Monday, 22nd July. Generous remuneration above the published 2024 MEA rates.</p><p>The PDHPE Head of Department works in collaboration with the school leadership team, colleagues, and external sporting groups to promote the safe and effective implementation of school sport. An individual in this role works to promote regular, active, enjoyable participation in physical activity and sport, ensuring a proactive and consistent approach. The K- 12 Sports Coordinator is primarily responsible for the successful management and coordination of the interschool and co-curricular sporting programme at the College. Within the role, the K-12 Sports Coordinator supports the Islamic identity of the College and works collaboratively with other staff and members of the school community to assist students in achieving enhanced learning outcomes, through sport and physical education. An understanding is required that the role will require greater hours than 8.00am – 4.00pm, including attendance at weekly staff meetings and other after hours events.</p><p><i>Applications will only be considered from applicants who have the appropriate NESA accreditation and retention of a valid Working with Children Check.</i></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong></p><ul><li>Design a contemporary and inclusive sporting program to achieve extra-curricular learning outcomes</li><li>Organise, conduct, and manage school carnivals, selection trials, gala days across K – 12 </li><li> Initiate, develop, and implement a K – 12 school sports calendar</li><li>Organise and coordinate school sport in Senior School and Junior School</li><li>Establish a safe, inclusive sporting environment that meets departmental and school requirements</li><li>Is responsible for the leadership and administration of all school sports including setting the sports calendar, ensuring inter-school sports competitions and school carnivals are well organised and setting and working within the approved budget. Including Risk Assessment.</li><li>Oversee staff coaching strategies, staff development for sport, and the school house system in collaboration with other key personnel.</li><li>Manage and maintain an inventory of sports equipment, ensuring that the amount of equipment is sufficient for program needs and that equipment is in good working condition.</li><li>Implement the Department of Education’s Sport &amp; Physical Activity Safety Guidelines</li><li>Complete risk assessments for all sport and physical activity conducted by the school</li><li>Ensure athletes in multiclass events are aware of the opportunities to represent at ISD swimming, cross-country and athletics and are informed of the requirements for classification and participation e.g. school newsletters, websites, assemblies, daily notices, sport noticeboards, emails, apps, canvas etc</li><li>Lead and support the ongoing development, implementation and oversight of quality sporting programs and learning outcomes</li><li>Ensures that all students gain encouragement and opportunities to participate to the best of their ability in school sports teams</li><li>Model positive attitudes towards sport and a commitment to promoting all school sports</li><li>Is responsible for preparing lists for annual Sports Awards and overseeing the planning for Sports Presentation Nights and major sports events</li><li>Ensures that the behaviour of players in all sports teams is maintained at a high standard and that behavioural issues are followed up effectively</li><li>Lead and supervise on and off-site activities and excursions, through active participation on afternoons, evening, and weekends, ensuring the safety and welfare of students at all times.</li><li>Devise a fun and diverse active sports programme for both indoor and outdoor sports.</li><li>Manage external sport registrations i.e ISD, IPSHA, IHISA, external partnerships (not limited to)</li><li>Ensure compliance to WH&amp;S policy in all sport activities</li></ul><p><strong>How to apply</strong></p><p>If you’d like to express interest, send through a full resume and covering letter addressing your interest and suitability to the role directly to the Head of Senior School, Ms Mouina Ramadan on <a href="mailto:mouina.ramadan&#64;bellfield.nsw.edu.au" rel="nofollow">mouina.ramadan&#64;bellfield.nsw.edu.au</a> and cc HR on <a href="mailto:amy.carrigg&#64;bellfield.nsw.edu.au" rel="nofollow">amy.carrigg&#64;bellfield.nsw.edu.au</a> Please do not hesitate to contact the College should you require assistance.</p><p><strong>Applications Close: Friday 19th July 2024. </strong>(Interviews may commence prior to closing date)</p><p><i>Bellfield College is committed to providing equal opportunity and supporting our communities by providing opportunities to grow and make a real difference.
