Applications are invited from qualified LSOs to join the Prep (Foundation) team with a start date of the beginning of Term 3.

<p>Applications are invited from qualified LSO to join a team dedicated to achieving engaging learning experiences that challenge children to achieve their personal best.  The position is for up to 33 hours over 5 days and will begin at the commencement of Term 3 2024.  Days and time fraction are negotiable.</p><p>This position is a replacement position for the remainder of the 2024 school year and is with the Prep (Foundation) Team. </p><p>LSOs work closely with classroom teachers and take their direction from them. The role involves working as part of a team with classroom teachers to provide support for students with diverse needs.</p><p>The successful applicant will support student learning under the direction of a teacher with individual and small groups of students both within and outside of the classroom to assist them with their educational and development programs.</p><p>It is expected that the successful applicant will:</p><ul><li>be committed to the values and ethos of the Catholic education system</li><li>be highly motivated, committed, positive, friendly and enthusiastic</li><li>have some experience working with students with a diverse range of needs.</li><li>display effective communication and organisational skills and the ability to be flexible, proactive and resourceful.</li><li>use initiative within the class environment to ensure optimal student support.</li><li>be able to work as part of teams of various sizes</li><li>be self motivated and able to work independently if necessary</li><li>have the capacity to cater effectively for a diverse range of learning needs</li><li>be able to build positive relationships with children and assist in creating learning environments where all are valued and challenged</li><li>demonstrate an understanding of child safety and the appropriate obligations and behaviours when engaging with students.</li><li>be committed to professional learning and ongoing improvement</li><li>be able to embed ICT into the LSO role.</li></ul><p>This community of St Mary MacKillop is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.
