St John's Catholic College Darwin is a Day, Boarding and International College for Students in Years 7 - 12.

Commencing Tuesday 6 August 2024, the College is seeking to recruit a School Officer: Travel, Enrolments, Engagement and Library (TEEL).

Primary Objective:

The School Officer: Travel, Enrolments, Engagement and Library (TEEL) is responsible for a broad range of school services, including but not limited to: student and family travel, enrolment processes, ongoing communication, community engagement, grant applications, and library services. Please note that this position may involve flying in light aircraft (single and twin engine) and other common community transportation such as 4WD and ferry services.

Key Responsibilities:

Travel, Enrolments and Engagement Responsibilities:

• Provide a safe, secure and caring environment for all students and support and contribute to the Catholic Ethos and Mission of the College..
• Coordinate the safe travel of boarding students and their families between their home and the College in accordance with College and ABSTUDY guidelines.
• Coordinate enrolment processes, with a focus on ABSTUDY boarding enrolments, including the initial assessment of applications to ensure adherence to the enrolment criteria and expectations of the College.
• Undertake key College, Centrelink, ABSTUDY and ATO administration tasks to ensure compliance, provision of service and maximize funding.
• Maintain a high degree of communication with key staff and families relating to enrolment, travel and the pastoral care and wellbeing of ABSTUDY boarding students.
• Liaise with key stakeholders in communities - clinics, schools, community officers etc. to support the ongoing enrolment and engagement of students and families.
• Coordinate the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program and other grant opportunities to support the College, students and families.
• Undertake promotional activities that strengthen the College in the market and support enrolment processes.
• Any other duty as required by the Director of Boarding or Principal.

Library Responsibilities:

• Provide supervision of students accessing the library.
• Maintain library resources, equipment and facilities: physical, catalogue and database management.
• Identify, arrange and order resources to maintain the library as an informative and engaging learning space.
