We are seeking a temporary Learning Enhancement Teacher to join our Junior School for Term 3 & 4.

Ascham is an inclusive, day and boarding school that provides a strong academic program within a warm, welcoming environment. </p><p>The Junior School Learning Enhancement Teacher is passionate about working with students, especially those who need additional support and adjustments to help them achieve. The Learning Enhancement Teacher is actively engaged in supporting students with additional learning needs and has appropriate qualifications or experiences. </p><p>We are currently seeking a temporary part-time (0.4 FTE) Learning Enhancement Teacher to join our Junior School for Term 3 &amp; 4, 2024. The working days are Monday and Tuesday. The Learning Enhancement Teacher is responsible for supporting students with special needs or requiring learning support from K-6, predominantly in Mathematics but not limited to. This person will have experience or qualifications in supporting students with learning difficulties and feel equipped to teach groups of students up to Grade 6 in Mathematics.  </p><p><strong>Essential Criteria </strong></p><ul><li>Appropriate tertiary and teaching qualifications and accreditation with NESA, including qualification or experience teaching students with learning difficulties and disabilities  </li><li>Have experience supporting students with learning difficulties and disabilities, such as ADHD, ASD and Specific Learning Disorders e.g. dyslexia  </li><li>A commitment to facilitating outstanding results for all students, particularly ensuring that student results are monitored and tracked and that specific strategies are implemented to improve results </li><li>A demonstrated ability to cater for individual needs and differentiate the curriculum </li><li>A sound knowledge of the new K-6 NESA syllabus  </li><li>An ability to assess students’ understanding and design programs to support their learning.   </li><li>A strong commitment to student wellbeing and to meeting students’ social and emotional needs  </li><li>Enthusiasm and willingness to participate in co-curricular activities and contribute to the broader life of the School community </li><li>Demonstrated excellence in communication and writing skills </li><li>Well-developed time management and organisational skills </li><li>Willingness to continue to develop as a teacher </li><li>A current First Aid &amp; CPR certificate and a valid Working with Children clearance </li></ul><p>The successful applicant will enjoy a stimulating work environment in a team of talented professionals and attractive remuneration and benefits. </p><p>Please apply via Seek with your cover letter and curriculum vitae (please include WWCC &amp; First Aid and CPR details) and the names and contact details of two referees by COB <strong>8 July 2024</strong>.
