Through exploration and discovery, we provide diverse learning opportunities for all children in an environment that fosters a sense of wonder, creativity and collaboration.</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong><br>We are seeking an Early Childhood Education Leader to support the implementation of the mission of Catholic Education and to provide high quality service and programs for children in primary school.</p><p><strong>Benefits and Opportunities</strong></p><ul><li>A positive and collaborative workplace culture</li><li>Permanent contract</li><li>Access to salary packaging, including novated leasing</li><li>24 weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption)</li><li>Up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carer leave)</li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Develop, plan, implement and evaluate a high quality educational program in line with the My Time, Our Place Learning Framework, in conjunction with other Educators.</li><li>Have a knowledge and understanding of nature play and risky play.</li><li>Provide programs which enable the Centre to meet the requirements of OOSCA policies, procedures, and philosophy, and the National Quality Standards.</li><li>Critically review and evaluate the programs and the service provided on a regular basis to ensure they are responsible to the needs of all stakeholders.</li><li>Show care, respect and a commitment to confidentiality in all interactions with children, staff and families.</li><li>Encourage parents to become involved in the general operation and decision-making processes of the Centre.</li><li>Provide information for families about the program through discussions and regular reports.</li><li>Assess the developmental needs of children, including the need for referral to specialist services, and to provide information and advice for families.</li><li>Participate in liaison and support within our wider community</li><li>Attend and participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of the Centre's Quality Improvement plan.</li><li>Participate in staff appraisal programs.</li><li>Have a commitment to improvement; personally, professionally and also with regards to the Centre.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Diploma in Children Services or working towards attainment</li><li>Must have current Working with Vulnerable People Card (WWVP)</li></ul><p><strong>Selection Criteria</strong></p><ol><li>A thorough knowledge of the My Time, Our Place Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards.</li><li>Proven and effective leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of high quality educational and care programs for groups of school age children.</li><li>A proven capacity to provide inclusive programs, which are based on the recorded observations and interpretation of children’s responses, needs and interests.</li><li>A sound ability to provide programs, which have a commitment to active involvement of families and local community.</li><li>A genuine passion for mentoring and leading a team of educators.</li><li>A proven ability to implement and manage effective administrative systems.</li><li>Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Thorough knowledge and understanding of the ACT Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and the implications of child protection policies.</li></ol><p><i>Please refer to the role description for an in-depth detail regarding criteria and skill set required.</i></p><p><strong>Other Eligibility Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible to apply for this position.&nbsp;</li><li>Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Application Process</strong></p><p>Applications are invited from interested candidates able to demonstrate a commitment to the vision of Catholic Education.</p><p>Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and current resume including a statement of suitability against the skills, attributes and experience as outlined in the position description.</p><p>This position involves working with children.
