An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an energetic and innovative, qualified Early Childhood Teacher Assistant to join our Junior School team, work in our Early Learning Centre. This is a full-time, fixed-term position commencing Monday 5 August until Friday 20 September 2024.

<p><strong>About the position:</strong></p><ul><li>Assist with, contribute to and implement an educational programme in collaboration with other Assistant Educators, ELC Teachers and the ELC Coordinator</li><li>Assist to create and maintain a positive learning environment, that actively engages children in the learning process through a play-based approach and the introduction of early Literacy and Numeracy</li><li>Employ a range of strategies to assist the teaching and learning in the room, considering the individual emotional, social, physical and intellectual needs of students</li><li>Ensure that children’s learning is professionally presented and an authentic representation of their personal growth and development</li><li>Maintain accurate records and ensure daily, weekly and monthly documentation are kept up to date</li><li>Ensure all children’s educational and physical needs are met throughout the day</li><li>Ensure the ELC Teacher is kept up to date and informed on any matters relating to the pastoral and educational needs or care of any child in the Early Learning Centre</li><li>Ensure a safe environment is maintained for children, parents and all staff and meets the National Quality Standards</li><li>Display a supportive and respectful attitude to children and their families</li><li>Build strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues.</li><li>Engage in ongoing professional learning.</li><li>The role reports to the ELC Teacher within the room and the ELC Coordinator as part of the ELC team.</li></ul><p><strong>About you:</strong></p><ul><li>You are passionate about early childhood education, learning, the growth and development of individual students and care about their wellbeing. You will always be an excellent professional role model for our students.</li></ul><p><strong>Working at The Knox School offers:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive salary, dependent on skillset and experience.</li><li>Opportunities for mentoring.</li><li>Supportive and stimulating work and learning environment set amongst beautiful grounds.</li><li>Onsite car parking.</li></ul><p><strong>The ideal candidate:</strong></p><p>Must:</p><ul><li>Hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent qualifications</li><li>Have sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Framework</li><li>Demonstrate a passion for early childhood education and show outstanding care for student wellbeing using a range of approaches</li><li>Be professional, collaborative, flexible and adaptable</li><li>Display effective communication skills with students, staff and parents</li><li>Have knowledge and understanding of the School’s obligations in respect of Ministerial Order No. 1359, the Reportable Conduct Scheme, mandatory reporting, record keeping in relation to student safety and wellbeing, the failure to disclose and failure to protect offences (and any other information sharing and reporting obligations that may arise). Training will be provided.</li><li>Have working knowledge of and be able to adhere to the School’s policies and student safety practices, including those detailed in the Student Safety at The Knox School Handbook which can be accessed here.</li></ul><p>Will:</p><ul><li>Display a supportive and respectful attitude to children and their families and build positive connections with all members of the school community.</li><li>Be professional, collaborative, flexible and adaptable.</li><li>Hold, or be prepared to obtain a current Level 2 First Aid Qualification, including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training.
