We are seeking an exceptional English Teacher to join our unique, future-focused college. Full-time or Part-time, permanent role Located in Ultimo Generous above-award salary. Salary will be commensurate with experience and related qualifications. Start date Term 1 2025 but earlier start possible.

Furthermore, later this year, Westbourne International is opening their third college in Singapore.</p><p>.</p><p><strong>About the role</strong></p><p>While we are STEM focused, Westbourne College Sydney recognises the importance of Studies in Language and Literature to our students.  Developing a passion for all subjects within the IB Diploma Programme is key to our students’ success at our college, but also for their future success in life and their chosen careers.</p><p>The successful candidate will therefore be an experienced, effective English teacher who can demonstrate leadership in their field. They will be responsible for teaching our Year 10 class in a NESA approved course designed to prepare students for the IBDP and Year 11 and 12 students in IB Standard Level and Higher Level English: Language and Literature. They will have a proven track record in successfully supporting the educational development of high potential students and differentiation in their lessons.</p><p>As a talented and passionate English Teacher, you will foster a love of language and literature and drive the development and implementation of engaging learning activities, assessments and programs, designed to enhance motivation and underpin the achievement of academic excellence.</p><p>Working collaboratively with the Westbourne team, you will be a vital support for students in the core components of the IB, such as Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay. The opportunities for ongoing career development and international collaboration are limited only by the successful candidate’s desire, drive and commitment. You will enjoy an equal voice in our small, friendly and collaborative team.</p><p><strong>About you</strong></p><p>You will demonstrate the following essential attributes and capabilities:</p><ul><li>Be a confident and highly effective classroom teacher with recent experience in IB English or Stage 6 Advanced and Extension English.<strong> The ability to teach Theory of Knowledge or another IBDP Course will be an advantage but is not essential. </strong></li><li>Be an effective team contributor and demonstrate exceptional collaboration and communication skills.</li><li>Have extensive experience in developing programs and delivering syllabus requirements</li><li>Demonstrate commitment to the success of program delivery</li><li>Able to adapt to new technology to enhance learning</li><li>Be a self-aware professional, interested in ongoing professional development</li><li>Be committed to supporting student wellbeing</li><li>Demonstrate commitment to maintaining a positive college culture</li></ul><p>You will demonstrate the following desirable attributes and capabilities:</p><ul><li>Willing to provide leadership, voice and initiative in your field</li><li>Have experience in teaching IB English at Standard and Higher Level and supporting students in the successful completion of the IB core components</li><li>Demonstrate an awareness and interest in the IB aims and mission</li><li>Willing to collaborate with other IB English teachers within the Westbourne group and other Australian IB schools</li><li>Able and willing to develop new and innovative Year 10 programs or projects that enhance the success of students in senior years</li><li>Able and willing to contribute to the support of students in the IB core components – Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and CAS.</li></ul>
