The Wellbeing Directorate at CSPD is seeking a Family School Liaison to be part of our team on a temporary, full-time basis for six months.

All staff share in the evangelising mission of the Church as they work to bring about a synthesis of faith, life and culture in their communities.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>About the opportunity</strong></p><p>The Wellbeing Directorate at CSPD is seeking a Family School Liaison to be part of our team on a temporary, full-time basis for six months, providing support services to Pacific Islander students to support their learning and participation at school. This involves connecting with students, school staff, community and family of students to ensure the best outcomes for each individual student.</p><p>As part of the mission of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Parramatta, the Family School Liaison is also accountable for supporting the learning and wellbeing of students and aligning work across CSPD for promoting collaborative relationships with school communities.</p><p>The role involves:</p><ul><li>Monitoring student progress.</li><li>Liaising between students, parents/caregivers and the school community.</li><li>Facilitating cultural events and cultural activities and advise to school staff when working with families.</li><li>Advocating for students and negotiate relevant support for academic, social and/or emotional issues.</li><li>Supporting the learning and wellbeing of students and their families through advice, advocacy and the identification of relevant support services and networks.</li><li>Acting as a critical point of contact between the family and school to support the wellbeing of students and their families.</li><li>Connecting families with their school and cultural communities and external services such as counselling, housing, welfare, health, community organisations and financial support.</li><li>Providing advice and support to the Wellbeing and Inclusive Learning team and school leadership for effective decision making and planning.</li><li>Promoting success at school for students through a focus on monitoring and encouraging regular attendance and supporting student behaviour needs.</li><li>Assisting in the development of supportive transition programs to school and into secondary school and beyond school, working towards higher attendance and retention rates.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>About you</strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrated experience of Pacific Islander knowledge and/or working within this community.</li><li>Tertiary qualifications and experience in Social Work / Social Sciences / Welfare / Psychology / Allied Health / Education, or related discipline.</li><li>Valid Working with Children Check for paid employment, or willingness to obtain.</li><li>Current NSW driver’s licence.</li><li>Sound computer/technology skills with the ability to use email and smartphones.</li><li>Ability to work unsupervised whilst also being an active team member.<br><br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>There are so many great things that CSPD has to offer!
