Grounded in an understanding of children's natural sense of wonder, our preschool aims to equip each child to make sense of their world by wondering, questioning, interacting, reflecting and praying.</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong><br>Corpus Christi Parish, South Tuggeranong is currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher and practising Catholic, who is driven to join a team of innovative professionals and who will nurture each child’s talents and gifts through the dynamic and stimulating Sacramental programs in the three parish primary schools; St Clare of Assisi Conder, St Francis of Assisi Calwell and Holy Family Gowrie.</p><p><strong>Benefits and Opportunities</strong></p><ul><li>A positive and collaborative workplace culture&nbsp;</li><li>Extensive training in our high-quality professional learning program, Catalyst&nbsp;</li><li>Access to curriculum resources that support evidence-based, high-impact teaching practice&nbsp;</li><li>24 weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption)&nbsp;</li><li>Up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carer leave)&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure those assisting with the teaching of the Parish Sacramental Program across the three schools&nbsp; are prepared.</li><li>Deliver the Sacramental program for students.</li><li>Demonstrate at all times active support of CE and school policies and procedures.</li><li>Create a learning environment which stimulates learning and promotes excellence and which accepts and acknowledges the needs of students to be both challenged and supported.</li><li>Use a variety of teaching and learning techniques which align to Catalyst and HITP.</li><li>Communicate in a clear, respectful and professional way in order to optimise each student’s development.</li><li>Maintain professional confidentiality on information about students and families.</li><li>Be proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 as a teaching and administrative tool.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Must have commenced or completed Initial Teacher Education (ITE) program.</li><li>Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) accreditation and NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation.</li><li>Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) registrations.</li></ul><p>To teach Religion in a Catholic School, candidates must:</p><ul><li>Be a practicing Catholic.</li><li>Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest; and</li><li>Must have completed, be due to complete or a willingness to complete Accreditation D, according to the Accreditation to work, teach and lead in a Catholic School Policy.</li></ul><p><strong>Selection Criteria</strong></p><ul><li>A sound understanding of and commitment to the Church’s mission in Catholic Education and the capacity to contribute to the spiritual and community life of the school.</li><li>A sound knowledge of the CECG Religious Education Curriculum K -10 with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and learning and authentic faith formation.</li><li>Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills so as to engage positively with colleagues, students and parents.</li><li>Excellent planning and implementation of teaching programs.</li><li>Excellent classroom management and organisational skills that create supportive and safe environments including managing challenging student behaviours and meeting a variety of learning needs.</li></ul><p><i>Please refer to the role description for an in-depth detail regarding criteria and skill set required.</i></p><p><strong>Other Eligibility Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible to apply for this position.&nbsp;</li><li>Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Application Process</strong></p><p>Applications are invited from interested candidates able to demonstrate a commitment to the vision of Catholic Education.</p><p>Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and current resume including a statement of suitability against the skills, attributes and experience as outlined in the position description.</p><p>This position involves working with children.
