You will support the organisation of the Diverse Learning team, including CSAs to achieve best outcomes for all students including those with diverse needs.</p><p><strong>Benefits and Opportunities</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>A positive and collaborative workplace culture&nbsp;</li><li>Extensive training in our high-quality professional learning program, Catalyst&nbsp;</li><li>Access to curriculum resources that support evidence-based, high-impact teaching practice&nbsp;</li><li>24 weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption)&nbsp;</li><li>Up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carer leave)&nbsp;</li><li>Support for professional development and study opportunities&nbsp;</li><li>Opportunities to transfer to other schools within the Archdiocese across ACT and NSW to support lifestyle choice</li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Provide direct instructional support to individual and/or groups of students, across all years of primary school</li><li>Provide support to teaching staff in mixed ability classes and in their dealings with students with diverse needs&nbsp;</li><li>Implement modifications and adaptations to the environment or teaching materials</li><li>Maintain records related to personal timetables and student(s) progress including the development of Personal Plans and the collection of data regarding student(s) goals/objectives</li><li>Research, develop and prepare resources and teaching aids for students with diverse needs</li><li>Create a learning environment which stimulates learning and promotes excellence, and which accepts and acknowledges the needs of students to be both challenged and supported</li><li>Plan, prepare, record and evaluate learning activities designed for the specific needs of students with diverse needs</li><li>Communicate with parents in written reports and during parent teacher interviews and at other times as required</li><li>Communicate with allied health professionals</li><li>Development of a strong Diverse Learning culture with CSAs</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Relevant Education/ Teaching tertiary qualification; and</li><li>Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration and ACT Teaching Quality Institute Accreditation</li></ul><p><strong>Selection Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p><ol><li>Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills and able to engage positively with colleagues, students and parents;</li><li>The capacity to be a proactive member of a professional learning community complying with legal, administrative and professional requirements;</li><li>Classroom practices and organisational skills that create supportive and safe environments for all students, including meeting a variety of diverse learning needs;</li><li>A sound knowledge of the Australian Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and learning;</li><li>An understanding of the principles of child protection and confidentiality;</li><li>Successful planning and implementation of programs that support the diverse needs of students; and</li><li>A comprehensive understanding of assessment and reporting strategies and the need to provide effective and timely feedback to parents and students.</li></ol><p><i>Please refer to the position description for in-depth details regarding the position duties, criteria, and skill set required.</i></p><p><strong>Other Eligibility Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible to apply for this position.&nbsp;</li><li>Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Application Process&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and current resume including a statement of suitability against the skills, attributes, and experience as outlined in the Position Description.&nbsp;</p><p>This position involves working with children.
