<ul><li><strong>$99,691 - $104,082 plus $5,200 travel allowance &amp; superannuation</strong></li><li><strong>Initial 12 month full-time or .8 contract, with anticipated renewal option</strong></li><li><strong>Amazing senior career &amp; lifestyle combination</strong></li></ul><p><strong>Mallee Childcare On the Go Services</strong> (COGS) are located across the <strong>Southern Mallee District Council</strong> region, which is located 200 kilometres to the east of Adelaide between the Riverland and the South East of South Australia.  The Southern Mallee is a diverse area with rural and town-based communities that support extensive agricultural and expanding horticultural enterprises through the two key towns of Lameroo and Pinnaroo, which represent a key economic zone on the Mallee Highway between Adelaide and Sydney.   </p><p><strong>Mallee COGS</strong> has operated for over 20 years and experienced significant growth in recent years.  Since February 2020 two new purpose built centres now provide 5 day a week care to the Southern Mallee Community.  Long day care and shorter sessions are provided for ages 4 months to 5 years with out of hours school care (OHSC) also provided for children up to 12 years of age.</p><p>The Director will be responsible for the overall management and day to day operations of two centres with a team of approximately 25 staff which includes contracted, casual and trainee positions.</p><p>Reporting to the Manager Corporate Services, the Director Childcare Services is responsible for managing and promoting childcare operations in a way that facilitates economic development and community growth.</p><p>The Childcare Services team deliver high quality care and develop relationships that support and partner with families and communities, ensuring children’s services are compliant with legislation, regulations and policies of council.</p><p>The Director Childcare Services is a key member of Council, and assists to establish and help implement strategic direction for the organisation and build an innovative and constructive culture. The successful candidate will:</p><ul><li> Provide strong leadership to childcare staff and effective management of Councils childcare facilities.</li><li>Supervise the day-to-day operation and administration of enrolments, calculation and collection of fees, creditor payments, records management, staff training and development and human resource activities.</li><li>Ensure the service adheres to all relevant regulations, guidelines and procedures including the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework.</li><li>Liaise with relevant internal, state, and federal funding bodies regarding the management of funding agreements and acquittals.</li><li> Manage the overall financial management of the service and control relating to programs, services and operations within the team, by reviewing and implementing the service’s annual budget.</li><li> Regularly review and develop policies and procedures to ensure currency and consistency with relevant regulations and legislation.</li><li>Manage and allocate staff resources to ensure efficient and cost effective delivery of services.</li></ul><p>Proven senior childcare experience will be essential.</p><p>Tertiary qualifications and/or management experience in a field relating to Early Childhood Education and Care will be viewed favourably.</p><p>With strong values and a supportive team environment<strong>, Southern Mallee</strong> <strong>District Council</strong> offers flexible working arrangements, support with ongoing professional development, future opportunities for progression, salary packaging, novated leasing, rostered days off and more.</p><p>An annual travel allowance of $5,200 forms part of the overall remuneration package as travel between the two childcare centres will be required.</p><p>Don’t delay, please apply online quoting reference <strong>DCSM200524</strong> before <strong>12 midnight  19 June 2024</strong>. </p><p>Your application should include a detailed cv and cover letter highlighting why you are a standout candidate for this position.</p>
