They lead, plan, and implement the Pastoral Program, and build the capacity of their Pastoral Care Teachers to deliver the Pastoral Program effectively. They ensure that the school-wide focus on learning and well-being is continuous, actively supported by the College Pastoral Program and relative to the needs of students. The Coordinator (Head of House) is responsible for the leadership, development and administration of excellence in pastorally focused teaching and learning across the College.</p><p><strong>Benefits and Opportunities&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>A positive and collaborative workplace culture&nbsp;</li><li>Extensive training in our high-quality professional learning program, Catalyst&nbsp;</li><li>Access to curriculum resources that support evidence-based, high-impact teaching practice&nbsp;</li><li>24 weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption)&nbsp;</li><li>Up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carer leave)&nbsp;</li><li>Support for professional development and study opportunities&nbsp;</li><li>Opportunities to transfer to other schools within the Archdiocese across ACT and NSW to support lifestyle choice&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Support the implementation of the College Pastoral Program, designing relevant lessons that align with the program and building staff capacity to deliver the program effectively.</li><li>Supervise and support Pastoral Care Teachers to ensure they are fully aware of their responsibilities and obligations relating to the pastoral care of students.</li><li>Work collaboratively with all members of the school community to ensure that student learning and well-being are the core business of our practice and policy.</li><li>Ensure that the Assistant Principal Mission and Culture is kept informed promptly about issues relating to students’ pastoral welfare.</li><li>Lead by example, setting and modelling excellent standards of teaching and working with staff to provide an optimal learning environment for all students.</li><li>Develop effective and appropriate relationships with and between community members – students, staff, and parents.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Must hold an ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.</li><li>Must hold an ACT Teaching Quality Insitute (TQI) accreditation.&nbsp;</li><li>Completed relevant education/teaching tertiary qualification</li></ul><p><strong>Selection Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p><ol><li>Demonstrated evidence of effective teamwork and collaboration.</li><li>Appropriate qualifications and a commitment to engage in relevant ongoing Professional Learning.</li><li>Successful experience in Educational Leadership.</li><li>A strong understanding of contemporary approaches to student learning and effective pedagogical practices.</li><li>The capacity to lead a team of people and to bring about effective change.</li><li>A high level of organisational and communication skills</li></ol><p><i>Please refer to the position description for in-depth details regarding the position duties, criteria, and skill set required.&nbsp;</i></p><p><strong>Other Eligibility Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible to apply for this position.&nbsp;</li><li>Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.</li></ul><p><strong>Application Process&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and current resume including a statement of suitability against the skills, attributes, and experience as outlined in the Position Description.&nbsp;</p><p>This position involves working with children.
