<p>Established in 2000, Mt Hira College is a co-educational Islamic community college in Keysborough, Melbourne. The College ethos exemplifies community values of fairness, kindness, respect, honesty and responsibility. Mt Hira is a school deeply centred in community. The rapid growth and development of the College reflects the benefits of a visible, integrated and supportive school community. </p><p>The Principal is responsible for a safe, cohesive, vibrant and aspirational learning environment where every student, staff, family and community member flourish. The Principal is a visible leader who embodies and exemplifies the College’s core values. As a deeply compassionate, inquisitive, and high performing professional, the Principal has a broad world view and highly attuned social, emotional and cultural intelligence skills.</p><p>Reporting to the Board and Head of College, the Principal ensures the College’s strategy encapsulates the school’s vision and mission and effectively operationalises the implementation of that strategy. The Principal leads by example, enacting the standards of excellence expected in teaching, learning and wellbeing. As the representative of the Board, the Principal is responsible for the design and delivery of policies, procedures and protocols that comply and surpass legislative and regulatory frameworks. </p><p>The successful candidate will:</p><ul><li>Demonstrate a commitment to supporting the Islamic values, ethos and culture of the College with the ability to lead a diverse and inclusive community;</li><li>Clearly articulate and inspire a compelling strategic vision which enhances the quality of education at the College and anticipates the future needs of learners and teachers;</li><li>Demonstrate a high level of engagement in effective education, with thorough knowledge of developments at international, national,  state and territory levels;</li><li>Demonstrate the knowledge and the successful implementation of a range of executive leadership principles and practices in managing change and innovation in an inclusive and collaborative manner;</li><li>Manage high level and complex student and staff wellbeing matters in a timely and effective manner;</li><li>Provide an executive level of leadership in all aspects of the College’s operations, including resourcing and people management, financial management, marketing, fundraising, communications, risk/compliance and governance;</li><li>Empower staff, students and parents to actively engage with the College community through effective communication and positive relationships</li></ul><p>The successful applicant will be invited to enter into an executive contract for a period of five years with an option to renew.  Applicants must be eligible for VIT registration. </p><p>Mt Hira staff comply with the school’s child safety policies and related policies and procedures (including the Code of Conduct), upholding the principles and values set out in legislative frameworks and regulations, at all times conducting themselves in accordance with the commitment to take all reasonable steps to promote the safety of children. </p><p>Mt Hira College has a zero-tolerance policy for child abuse and is committed to promoting child safety, children’s wellbeing and protecting children from abuse.</p><p>Hutton Consulting Australia (HCA) is partnering with Mt Hira College in the search and selection process for this position.
