The primary role of the café Barista is to be the first point of contact for coffee service and to be responsible for set-up, clean-up, ordering and organising the café space for coffee service. They will serve student, parent and staff orders, managing the opening and closing of the café Monday through Friday from 7:30a-11:30a (approx.)

<ul><li>To effectively witness to the beliefs articulated in the Company's Policies of NT Christian Schools by modelling an authentic life of faith lived in accordance with those beliefs, and</li></ul><p>with general Christian principles.</p><ul><li>To contribute to the spiritual life of the school by leading or otherwise assisting in the conduct of religious services and otherwise engaging in religious practices and observances (including, but not limited to, leading prayers or devotions and sharing testimonies).</li><li>Maintain the capacity to be an active team member and work collaboratively with others.</li><li>Understand and maintain knowledge of machines, coffee taste and coffee making techniques.</li><li>Ensure drink making standards are high, keep equipment and area clean for service.</li><li>Demonstrate superior customer service, neat personal presentation and clean hygiene.</li><li>Be punctual and manage time appropriately to keep up with drink demands in busy periods.</li><li>Maintain inventory and stock levels, complete ordering, stock take, and supply upkeep.</li><li>Operate a POS till, take and process orders, accept payments and provide invoices.</li><li>Maintain a clean café area, cleaning and preparing tables, remove rubbish and sanitise.</li><li>Store, prepare and serve food and drink according to governing safety requirements.</li></ul><p><strong>Selection criteria</strong></p><p><i><strong>Essential:</strong></i></p><ul><li>A committed Christian actively involved in your local church.</li><li>Prove an ability to effectively model Christian values as expressed in the Policies and Procedures of NT Christian Schools and to give an authentic witness to those values.</li><li>Experience making coffee and maintaining a coffee bar.</li><li>Knowledge of food handling safety including storage, preparation, delivery of food to include personal hygiene requirements.</li><li>Experience in customer service and hospitality functions.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><i><strong>Desirable:</strong></i></p><p>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Experience working in a school setting.</li><li>Food handling course work complete.</li><li>Barista short course completion.</li></ul><p>'</p><p>NT Christian Schools exists to advance the Christian religion through the provision of education and religious instruction.
