The Deputy Principal (Curriculum) is required to work collaboratively with the school Principal and other school Leadership team to provide strategic and operational leadership in the following areas: Catholic Identity, Leadership, Teaching & Learning practices, Pastoral Care and Wellbeing, Data Management and Analysis, Mentoring staff and Curriculum Planning.

<p><strong>FULL TIME | COMMENCING 15 JULY 2024 | INITIAL 2 YEAR CONTRACT</strong></p><p><strong>SALARY- $ 144,826  P.A PLUS SUPER </strong></p><p>St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary School was established in 1997 to serve the needs of a growing population in Darwin’s rural area. It is the only co-educational Catholic Primary school in the rural area, catering for students in Transition to Year 6. Our student population is drawn from across the rural area including as far south as Batchelor, east to Corroboree and west to Berry Springs. Students within our school community come from a diverse range of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. </p><p>The Deputy Principal (Curriculum) holds a senior leadership position in a Catholic School. The Deputy Principal (Curriculum) is challenged to be a person of faith and vision for Catholic education and have the capacity to communicate this vision to others in the school community. The Deputy Principal (Curriculum) is required to work collaboratively with the school Principal and other school Leadership team to provide strategic and operational leadership in the following areas: Catholic Identity, Leadership, Teaching &amp; Learning practices, Pastoral Care and Wellbeing, Data Management and Analysis, Mentoring staff and Curriculum Planning.</p><p><strong>Skills required for this role include (but are not limited to):</strong></p><ul><li>Strong knowledge of curriculum and evidence based pedagogical approaches </li><li>Understanding of structured synthetic phonics </li><li>Ability to implement change management across the school </li><li>Ability to use student data to inform instruction </li><li>Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families </li><li>Experience in a Catholic school setting </li><li>Ensure the effective implementation of school pastoral care by displaying a committed pastoral care for children, attentive to their individual and corporate needs and assisting in the development and maintenance of good staff morale and responding to their pastoral care needs.  </li></ul><p>This position will involve working with children.
