We are an independent, Aboriginal community school in Alice Springs controlled by an Aboriginal School Council and catering for Aboriginal students from the nearby community and outstations. The school has excellent, purpose-built classrooms, and support resources for all teachers. All classroom teachers currently have the support of Indigenous assistant teachers. The school offers a two-way learning approach (bi-lingual &amp; bi-cultural) to education where we teach in four Aboriginal languages. Relationships-based learning, and school wide positive behaviour support are significant improvement priorities at our school.</p><p><strong>Key duties and responsibilities</strong></p><ol><li>Plan, prepare and deliver quality, effective teaching and learning programs consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, Yipirinya School objectives and the Australian Curriculum.</li><li>Support student learning, safety and well-being through the active development of supportive learning environments and effective behaviour support practices.</li><li>Assess student learning, maintain student records and samples of work and report on student performance to students, parents, the department and other stakeholders as required.</li><li>Work collaboratively with school staff and external providers to implement programs and activities.</li><li>Establish and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships between the school, parents, external providers and the community.</li></ol><p><strong>Further information</strong></p><ol><li>For further information please email gavin.morris&#64;yipirinya.nt.edu.au</li></ol>
