The Learning Support Assistant collaborates with the Leader of Inclusion and classroom teachers to improve learning pathways for individual students. The LSA may provide support that allows a classroom teacher to work more closely with the student or work directly with students with additional needs. </p><p>The position description is attached.</p><p><b>Key Capabilities/Experience</b></p><p><b>Qualifications &amp; Registrations:</b></p><ul><li>Meets or willingness/capacity to work towards the requirements to Work, Teach and Lead Policy.</li><li>Current Working with Children Check</li><li>Certificate IV in Education Support or willingness to study within 12 months of appointment.</li><li>Training or experience in delivering literacy and/or numeracy intervention programs such as MultiLit or QuickSmart.</li></ul><p><b>Knowledge &amp; Experience:</b></p><ul><li>An understanding of and commitment to the ideals of Catholic Education.</li><li>Skills in supporting students in a secondary school setting. </li><li>Awareness of Personalised Planning and differentiation. </li><li>Awareness of supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and competency in cultural sensitivity.</li><li>Awareness of supporting English Language Learners and competency in cultural sensitivity.</li><li>Excellent communication and organisational skills. </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in web-based applications found in the contemporary school setting, such as Google Apps for Education.</li><li>High level analysis and problem-solving skills. </li><li>A bias for action and improvement. </li><li>An ability to work as part of a team and contribute positively to staff professional culture.</li></ul><p><b>Skills &amp; Attributes: </b></p><ul><li>Collaborates with teachers to implement effective learning interventions and differentiated instruction that supports student learning needs.</li><li>Supports students to improve literacy and numeracy achievement. </li><li>Assists students to access their learning using a wide range or resources, including ICT.</li><li>Supports teachers in the recording of task specific adjustments in line with those identified in Personalised Plans (PPs).</li></ul><p><b>About Wagga Wagga: </b></p><p><b> </b></p><p>Imagine a city where you could enjoy a challenging and stimulating career, afford a beautiful house, live close to quality schools, experience a wealth of cultural and sporting entertainment - and have a daily commute of 10 minutes.</p><p>Welcome to Wagga Wagga.
