<p><b>About the College&nbsp;</b><br></p> <p>As a Catholic School, Thomas Carr College aims to educate our students with an appreciation of the spiritual as well as the intellectual and physical aspects of their lives. We work with our parents to produce young people of faith and character.&nbsp; We are a Catholic Co-educational College in Tarneit, west of Melbourne with 1200 students.</p> <p><b>About the role</b><br></p> <p>The Student Counsellor is a member of the Student Wellbeing Team and is responsible for providing the College community with high quality generalist counselling and case management services. In consultation with the Team Leader of Student Wellbeing, the Student Counsellor will be responsible for developing and implementing relevant College policies, procedures and programs with a focus on enhancing the wellbeing of the students and school community, particularly those at risk.&nbsp;</p> <p>You must have -</p> <ul> <li>Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all members of the College Community<br></li> <li>A Degree in Psychology or equivalent Degree in Counselling</li> <li>Membership of APS/AAPI/PACFA</li> <li>Demonstrates ability in counselling which reflects current therapeutic practices in working with students and their families, who may come from a variety of backgrounds, particularly those with diverse learning needs&nbsp;</li> <li>Prior experience in working with adolescents and ability to build rapport preferred</li> <li>Experience in the development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures for students, preferably a school community</li> <li>Able to demonstrate a high level of understanding of the position responsibilities</li> <li>Able to gain and keep successful registration for a Working with Children Check and successfully passing a National Police Record History Check</li> <li>Expertise in using computer databases, the internet, email navigation and Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><b>To Apply for this role </b></p> <p>Please email your application by <b>23&nbsp;February 2024 at 9.00a</b>m to <b><a href="mailto:employment@thomascarr.vic.edu.au?subject=Student%20Wellbeing%20Counsellor%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29">employment@thomascarr.vic.edu.au</a> </b>including your resume, a cover letter addressing the key criteria listed in the Duty Statement and the names of 3 referees as well as a completed <b>Academic Application Form</b> located in the 'Our College - Employment' section of the College website.</p> <p>Our school community promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.</p> <p><b>Please note:&nbsp;</b> Apply Online applicants will not be considered.&nbsp;<br></p> <p></p> <p></p>
