</p><p>Lauriston Girls’ main campus is based in the inner Melbourne suburb of Armadale and caters for students from 3-year-old Kindergarten to Year 12, offering both VCE and IB pathways. The 'Howqua' campus is Lauriston’s second campus. It is located near the Victorian country town of Mansfield and caters for Year 9 students residing on site. A key differentiator of a Lauriston experience, Howqua showcases the powerful and positive impact of a well-established and well-resourced experiential program that is strategically embedded into the fabric of a school community. In 2023 Howqua celebrated its 30th year and was the winner of the Australian Education Awards’ “Best Co-Curricular Program”.
</p><p>The Vice Principal – Howqua Campus is responsible for the leadership and implementation of a dynamic Year 9 academic, wellbeing and experiential learning program. The Vice Principal, as Head of the Howqua Campus, leads the Howqua Management Team, actively supporting, managing, and engaging in the day-to-day operations, duties and activities in alignment with the School Vision, Values and Mission. A unique appeal of this role is the opportunity to collaborate widely with the broader school community. In particular, the Vice Principal enjoys a close and collaborative relationship reporting directly to the Principal and is a member of the Senior Executive Team.
</p><p>The Vice Principal - Howqua Campus:
</p><ul><li>Leads, engages, and inspires staff, students and parents through the delivery of an academic, wellbeing, fitness and outdoor curriculum of excellence
</li><li>Initiates and contributes to the design, development, implementation and communication of a residential experiential program that supports the strategic direction, educational strategies and philosophy of the School</li><li>Encourages and builds leadership capacity in students and staff through formal and informal development opportunities with exposure to learning delivery, pastoral care and student management</li><li>Actively participates, openly communicates & collaborates with the Principal, whole school Senior Executive team, the Howqua Management Team and teachers on the functions and objectives of those teams to plan, develop and implement strategy, policies, and practices.
</li></ul><p>The successful candidate demonstrates a proven ability to:
</p><ul><li>proactively communicate and effectively support and contribute to whole school Senior Executive team functions and strategy
</li><li>lead, engage, and inspire staff, students and parents to actively embrace the Howqua campus philosophy
</li><li>design, deliver, evaluate and review programs reflective of industry best practice and pedagogical excellence
</li><li>develop staff and student agency and leadership capacity, fostering a positive culture of growth and collaborative decision making
</li><li>nourish community relationships and actively advocate the benefits of experiential learning programs to the wider community
</li><li>ensure good governance through effective planning and managing of finances and administration as well as shaping, organising and facilitating operations and logistics
</li><li>develop and embed Risk Management and Compliance policies, procedures and protocols to support an environment that upholds the highest standards in Child Safety.
</li></ul><p>The successful candidate will reside and be present on site as well as proactively contribute to events in Armadale. Benefiting from a competitive remuneration package, this position also includes a small teaching allotment.
</p><p>With a negotiable start date, preferably at the commencement of Term 3, 2024, applicants must have a right to work in Australia and be VIT registered.
