<p>Due to the growing popularity of subjects within our Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) suite of offering, we have an outstanding opportunity for a qualified teacher to join our Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) team.</p> <p><b>Permanent full-time position - Commence Monday 29 January 2024 (Term 1, 2024)<i> (or by negotiation)</i></b></p> <p>As a secondary teacher in the technologies, you will be committed to the achievement of excellence as a classroom teacher and thrive on both the creativity and practical challenges associated with teaching a range of cutting-edge subjects within the Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) suite of offering from Year 7 to Year 12. In looking toward 2024, this will include subjects such as Technology (Stage 4), Computing Technologies (Stage 5) and Design and Technology (Stage 5 and Stage 6), however there is scope, depending upon the skills and interest area of the successful applicant to expand beyond this into other areas such as Industrial Technology - Timber or Engineering.</p> <p>This position will suit an experienced teacher or equally be a tremendous opportunity for a student nearing completion of their degree (final internship) or a recent graduate who wishes to work with state-of-the-art facilities and gain valuable experience working in a well-supported, experienced and collegial TAS faculty.</p> <p>To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate you satisfy all of the following essential selection criteria:</p> <p><b>Essential Criteria </b></p> <ul> <li>A working understanding of, and commitment to the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.</li> <li>Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.</li> <li>Qualified to teach Technology Courses (Stage 4 to Stage 6) with NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.</li> <li>Committed to excellence as a classroom practitioner.</li> <li>Ability to apply differentiation of curriculum in the classroom.</li> </ul> <p><b>Desirable </b></p> <ul> <li>Qualified and / or willingness to teach other TAS subjects such as Industrial Technology - Timber or Engineering (Stage 5), Software Design and Development (Stage 6) and/or Enterprise Computing (Stage 6).</li> </ul> <p><b>How to apply </b></p> <p>To express your interest in joining our highly motivated professional staff, apply via the online ‘Career Application’ available on our website <a href="https://www.spc.nsw.edu.au/working-spc/" rel="nofollow">Working at SPC | St Patrick's College Strathfield</a></p> <p>Your application should consist of:</p> <p><b>1.Cover letter</b> (maximum two pages) that highlights your claim for the role and demonstrates your suitability by addressing the following two target questions:</p> <p><b>(a) </b>What motivates you to want to become a teacher with St Patrick’s College, Strathfield?</p> <p><b>(b)</b> How would you use your expertise to enrich the learning of our students?</p> <p><b>2.Current CV</b> (maximum five pages) outlining your qualifications, experience and skills together with the contact information for three (3) referees (at least two must be from your current employer).</p> <p><i>All applications should be addressed to The Principal (MS Word and PDF attachments are preferred). </i></p> <p>A working understanding of, and a commitment to the Catholic ethos of a school in the Edmund Rice tradition, a valid Working with Children clearance and participation in the co-curricular program, are essential conditions of employment.</p> <p>Evidence of a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance and compliance with the College's COVID-19 Vaccination Policy will be required prior to employment.</p> <p>St Patrick’s College is a child safe and child-centred organisation, committed to the protection of children and has zero-tolerance of any abuse of children.
